  • We are renovating our Coachman Freelander 32BH Class C RV! From floor to ceiling, we are retouching everything in our home away from home. In this video, we are reviewing how we have redone the sinks, faucets, and countertops. This is not exactly a how to, but I want to show what we were able to get working for us, and hope it helps spark ideas for anyone else who is looking to accomplish this project in their RV! -Andy

    Sweet video! Nice rig too! My wife and I are looking into RV living so I'm trying to brush up on the differences between house improvements and RV improvements.

      Ha! Not sure there is much difference! However, in the smaller space there is less to fix. 😅

    This was really useful as I am remodeling both kitchen and bath, swapping out old sinks for modern steel ones. Love your kitchen sink and faucet!! Please share the faucet link.
    Its PEX by the way, not PLEX. This is a residential plumbing system I saw at Home Depot with colored (or white) lines for plumbing and very strong pipe clamps called Sharkbites. I bought some to replace a leaking RV water line, and have to install it. I think the clamps for Pex system are far tighter than regular hose clamps which don't work on stiff RV water lines.
    I was worried that residential fixtures would not work on an RV, and very happy to see that they do, from your video! It is so helpful to get some closeup views of your plumbing set up, pipe connections, etc. This is the detail you need to see to clear up plumbing mysteries.

      Thank you for the correction. You learn so much on the fly! We bought our faucet from HD. I dont see the exact one we have, but this one is very close: goo.gl/mWKcRB. The only issue with it is during travel the handle will wiggle loose from the bumps. An extra rubber band around the neck solves it. :)

    Andy, you may want to look into a hepvo waterless trap to simplify some of the under cabinet plumbing. Love some of what you have done here, ours is similar in style in that it is a 32' bunkhouse, just by Jayco.

      +Carl Brothers ahh. Where were you months ago! Lol. At this point unless there is an issue it is staying the way it is! But will look into that for the next job. :)

    You used work screw clamps on the PEX?

    I really like the countertops did you use a lacker?

      @WhereWildOnesRoam  5 років тому

      That is an option. We just used polyurethane. Mainly because I felt comfortable using it and I knew it would hold up from previous projects.

    Thank you for posting this and the close up of the plumbing below. I am remodeling my Jayco Trailer and have been nervous to use “residential” plumbing fixtures. Now I feel like I might have a real shot at it!!!

      Hey Beth, Right there with you. Once I figured out our RV was using residential plex for inbound water and normal plumbing for outbound, it made it much easier. However, I had to go to the home improvement store enough where I know EVERYTHING in the plumbing isles very well. ;) It was a lot of trial and error. I have two whole bags of parts I didnt end up using that will be returned. :)

    Where did you get that countertop wood? We are about to redo our counter too, and that top looks great!

      Hey! We had made them. They were yellow pine 2x4s we planned, cut to shape and then stained. I believe its covered in Episode 4 of our Reno. You can see the process we took. Another option is Ikea or Lumber Liquidators. They will sell you a wood slab and you can cut that down as needed.

      That triggered me too. Also, the traps are called "P" traps.
