I find they actually take water pretty well. Mines in a bit more org than yours and i water mine (deep ) every 1.5 to 2 weeks. They are all very happy. But mine is alot smaller than yours. Maybe as they age its harder. Ive heard people say its no harder than lophs or arios.🎉
Sorry to hear... Unfortunately losing plants is very much a part of growing them. It is an element of growing you get used to. My advice, when you lose a plant, investigate why. The best lessons are in the "fails"
