Thank you very much for creating an updated, more relaxing version. Hope’s stories are among my favourites and I was sorry to miss it due to me not being able to relax with the original version. I was very excited when I saw you posted a new version, I had thought about asking for one, but then dismissed it. What a beautiful story! Thank you! A few more thoughts on background sounds, in case you’re interested: even in this quieter version, I think the background music is not ideal as it mostly consists of two different notes that are louder than the rest. Keeps me awake as my brain is waiting for the next time I can hear them. There’s no melody and no calming effect, at least not for me. Music as used in the sloth story, the old lady and the cat and Alice, for example, are way more soothing. Not that it has to be piano music, spherical music works too, any music as long as it’s calming, melodic and the notes are of similar volume. Same with nature sounds, they seem to be quieter when you talk, louder when you don’t talk. That leaves the impression that one is not listening to wind or rain, but to waves on the beach, which doesn’t feel right (and keeps me awake) when the story is about an autumn forest. I suggest no change in the volume of the background sounds (music or nature), just a consistent, quiet, soothing, calming background. Your voice and the stories you tell are the best for falling asleep, your soothing, levelled voice is perfect. So thank you again!
