The tortoise tries to run but the lions are too fast for it. Lucky for the tortoise, it has a second defense. The tortoise shell is made up of upper and lower bony structures called the carapace and plastron. The carapace and plastron meet at the side of the body, giving the tortoise a fully protected skeletal box. The lion wasn’t able to solve the mystery of the tortoise shell this time. After the lions wandered off, the tortoise was able to continue on its way.

Lions usually eat antelopes or wildebeests, however that doesn't mean tortoises are off the menu. Do you think preying on these reptiles is worth a lion's trouble?
No to be honest
Isn't really a huge meal anyway
That's a tough lunchbox.
Sadly they have no key to open that lunchbox
That's a good lion. At least he flipped it over so it could walk.
Mohamed Farouk plot twists, as soon as the tortoise thinks he's safe and comes back out, the lion bounds from one of those bushes and is like " I GOTCHA NOW! Mwahahahahaha!"
Hahaha So funny! :D
It's a sign of respect. 😎
as a Queen of Savannah.... gotta do the responsibility toward humble creature
Bet the tortoise is inside his shell watching Netflix like "when is that loser gonna learn, you can't touch this".
I wonder if lions ever managed to actually crack one open. That would be one shell of a feast. Thanks National Geographic for sharing.
Turtle : You might be the king of whole jungle, but not mine 🙈
Tortoise 🐢 tried to run 🤣🤣🤣
is it just me or do these lions look like they've eaten already
the turtose won this race 🐢 💨
Well said, Imurge! In fact, a lion's success rate for killing prey is typically below 30%.
So much as king of the jungle
Too bad for the lion and good luck for the tortoise. 🤣
Absolutely! It's great that this situation worked out for the tortoise. 🐢
crocodile : Why not eating?
This looks like the Presidential debate last night.
My friend thinks lions are better than turtles and tortoises
When he says who would qin in a fight i bring this video up😂
Tortoise: * speaking in respect tone of fear *
Your Highness,
you are the King & Queen of beast in the Savannah...
killing a humble Tortoise won't be a great ideal for high rank creature on land....
Lioness: * sign * ok , i let you go....
* flop the shell and put back where it belong *
Tortoise:
Thank you, Your Majestic ...
And long live the King & Queen of the Savannah
That poor tortoise is gonna have a twitch for the rest of its long life! 🐢 🐯
Why?
Poor little boi
Did anyone else see this and think of the film Bladerunner’s opening scene about the empathy test?
This seems like tortise can defwnse anything
Great escape...
Can you do a honey badger video
That's a sulcata tortoise! I have one of those
Ninja Turtles Strike again!
Interesting I watched another video, of couple lions drinking water side of lake and turtles went up to them, to their mouths... but they had No interest, seemed little annoyed too, and walked away! 🤔
OK. VIVA Earth And Water And Sea tortoise./Turtle 2020.-2021.-2022.-2023.🙂🙂🙂
Indominus vs anky round 2 !

lol
question: can a hyena crack the tortoise open?
Nope, tbh when they get really big they virtually have no known predators (not including human beings)
@@mfhanif7433 nope
@@lightplan They do, crocodiles can crack a tortoise's shell open. I remember seeing this video of a gator or croc where one put the entire shell in it's mouth and bit it. The shell succumbed to the pressure and the water in proximity got all bloody after that.
@@lightplan that's nature! An unsuspecting animal like a turtle has evolved to be quite successful despite being so slow. They have carved out their own little niche. Every animal still alive has evolved to be fairly successful.
@@UnitedKingdom100 Yeah, but there are also instances of a gator failing to crush a large turtle, so you can imagine that the giant tortoises are truly invulnerable to predators. The only thing that might be able to break them is an elephant stomping on them.
Haha
Turtle your sooo lucky....😊
