    Although I am interested in weapons I am mainly watching these old movies for the delightful English accents. My current favorites include;

    "to counteract the reh-coil"

      People making voiceovers in this era went to special schools. We have variations of this in sweden. They are required to speak clearly due to the poor microphones at the time. Now people can just mumble and still be ledgible.

      A bazooka does the same...
      But I like this gun.
      It could have done better,
      with some changes. (4 small changes)

    • @observer6294
      @observer6294 5 років тому +2

      @HappyandAtheist - True.
      But bazookas can fire missiles that can fly longer, and is guided by computer.
      Most of the time, the range does not matter, as with bazooka, You can hide quite well, until the target comes near You, or You can reach the target in secret.
      Then again, there is bazooka like recileless guns, that weight much lesser than this.
      Still, long barrell without any recoil,
      is very good in aeroplanes,
      and some used the same method.

    • @observer6294
      @observer6294 5 років тому

      @HappyandAtheist - So it is more of poltics, not of technical thing.
      But when EMP hits, it hits to targets too...
      Here is one good...

    I happened to shoot few of these recoilless rifles; A carl gustaf M2 and M67. Regardless of its name, shooting one really shock your entire body and there's actually a limit on how much a person can shoot them per day before one developed concussion, internal bleeding (usually nose bleed but it can cause stroke) and permanent loss of hearing

    In indo pakistan war 1971 indian army destroyed whole pakistani tank regiment with this type of a "SINGLE" jeep mounted gun so its damn "EFFECTIVE". This war is also known as battle of longewala. There's only 120 soldiers of india against 3000 soldiers of pakistan with a full tank regiment and 500 armoured and transport vehicles. But still indian soldiers fought with pak and won the battle. This storyis also on wikipidia with images.

    I'm assuming they would have deployed this weapon in multiple teams...as an ambush weapon, it has merit, but against Soviet-style formations, it's not the *one* tank you have to worry about, but his 6~8 buddies with him. Not too mention the dedicated artillery support (at regiment strength or better) the attack formation has tasked to it.... I don't even want to imagine dragging that weapon thru an artillery-shattered landscape.
    Cheap and easy to train with, 'cause I doubt the weapon's crew has a decent long-term survival rate...

      After diligent "research," our Weapon Analysis section has discovered s small placard which was designed as a "tear out" in a disused copy of the training documents. It was evidently intended for use via hanging it around the barrel of the weapon before firing. A rough transliteration runs as follows:
      Snälla Mister. Tank, kom och skjut mig! Jag vill förvandlas till imitation lingonberry sylt!
      Or, in more colloquial parlance: Please Mister Tank, come and shoot me! I want to turn into imitation lingonberry jam!

      The US army used to have a 90mm recoilless rifle in the inventory that used a similar shell and was shoulder fired, or could be fired off a built in tripod arrangement. I shot one several times when I was a young combat engineer, but other units had them as well. It didn't have the spotting rifle bit had instead a subcaliber "shell" insert that used 7.62mm NATO cartriges. Also had HEDP and HESH anti armor shells and smoke. It was man portable and weighed about 30 pounds.

    Dear Mr Narrator, it is not PLARSTIC, no “R” it’s pronounced PLAS-TIC. Either he was doing a bad impression of minor noble from the United Kingdom, or was a minor noble from the United Kingdom. Sweden might be a small, peace loving nation, but they did/do have a knack making some fine weapons, aircraft, and naval craft, they used to make some great cars as well, but nowadays the aircraft market pays better. A friend of mine who I was serving with in the United Kingdom military was unable to go with us whenever we detached to Sweden, otherwise he wouldn’t of come back with us, he was a dual National with Sweden and had been called up for national service, and even though he was already serving within the United Kingdom military they considered him as still having to do his NS, even though he couldn’t speak a word of Swedish, hated the cold with a passion and was allergic to any form of seafood/fish, go figure the mentality of some pencil pushing bureaucrat!!!!.

    +ensitu That is wrong wrong wrong. Our feminist party isnt is far from running our goverment, they only got 3,1% in the election last year. Our military is in this moment growing faster than its ever has after WW2.

      +Doomsday Skojar du, det första sittande regering sa va att dom skulle föra en "feministisk politik" och ta bara en titt på hur bra det går, statsskulden ökar med rekordfart, sjukhus och polis klarar inte längre av sina uppdrag och även om FM ska få mera pengar så minskar anslaget sett till BNP och vi hamnar under 1%... och då har FM inte fått pengarna än, flyktingkrisen lär ändra på den saken då vi tydligen ska rädda hela världens folk
