33:30 - Relays or resistors will not multiply the voltage, but those blue capacitors and diodes will - It's called a Cockroft-Walton multiplier. The transformer only makes a few kV and the multipliers up that by a lot.

That circuit takes small ac and generates a huge DC (same idea). But here in dental xray machines they use transformer to step up and then rectified to DC, then the very high voltage is achieved by LLC resonant circuits. Dental xray needs "only" 60kvp (60 thousands volts peak) for small people, 70kvp for average adults, and 80kvp for large people. The maximum time for xray of the molar is about 400ms (0.4 seconds). Other teeth 200ms. Panoramic and ct scans are different. Because of using LLC resonant circuits thin wires can be used as you see. LLC circuits with high voltage were used in the past by Electrical Engineer nerds to punch car thieves by stinging them with high voltage without killing them or hurting them. So I was told.

One time I had electrician take a Preva off the wall before we got there to do it. He took it down by removing the lags from the wall plate and pulled the entire thing in one piece, without securing the arm. I couldn’t believe he managed that by himself. 😂

This job can be dangerous if you don't know what is going on. That's why I made this video

@@DentalEquipmentRepairChannel and you did a great job explaining the danger. I’ve been hit in the face by an SS white arm. Still got my teeth thank goodness.

The old Gendex made in Milwaukee lasting 40 to 50 years (Amazing). Can't blame the entire problem where it's made now. The new engineers took a chance and redid the whole thing and somewhat failed. I don't know why they did not leave the head alone. All the good ones still have the head with just the tube like Sirona thats probably the second best one.

22:30??? You clearly knew nothing about what you were doing! The clam shell snaps together and doesn't require beating it into with a hammer. How do you think Tube-heads are rebuilt?

Thanks for watching the video. Normally we just trash them. No, I've never rebuilt an x-ray tube.
