All Of Me" All of me, why not take all of me? Can't you see I'm no good without you? Take my lips I wanna lose them Take my arms I'll never use them Your goodbyes left me with eyes that cry How can I get along without you? You took the part that once was my heart So why not take all of me? Your goodbyes left me with eyes that cry Now I'm lost without you You took the part that once was my heart All of me, why not take all of me? Can't you see I'm a mess without you? You took the part that used to be my heart So why not take all of me?
Dear Jazzheads, if you like the guitar playing in this video, I highly recommend checking out Dave Stryker, who was my teacher at the time (see link below). I had my first real connection to Jazz and jazz guitar when I heard Kevin Mahogany's version of Nature Boy - little did I know at the time that Dave actually was the guitar player on the session, I only found out a year later after having studied with Dave for several months when we spoke about what records had influenced me and I mentioned that record. He is. But too much for this. I played some jazz to an old lady today and she said she found it annoying... until this really steady beat came in. Very reaction-y. PS I only know three jazz standards can you guess what they are? Clue: one is in Am, one is in E, the other is this one.
i really like this song but i think whoever wrote it set it waaay slower than it shoulve been. just try replaying the video at 1.25x or 1.5x, it sounds so much better :/
iPacman, the best thing I can give you, for your own musical growth is this: learn solos you like one note at a time by ear! Don't use tabs or notation if you can help it. Also, find a great teacher to guide and show you things that may never have occurred to you other wise. I was fortune enough to have had the privilege of studying with Dave Stryker and this video is literally me pretty much copying his style and his solo note for note, which, of course, I learned by ear.
