Many of you have asked if Rising Star could wear leg protectors.
That is a good idea. But Risey still finds it very scary when his legs are touched. I thought it was too big a risk that if I put protectors on him, he would start making crazy jumps with all the consequences that entails.
If it would be better for Risey in the longer term, I may still decide to use protectors.

In Sweden, we have a specialist horse hospital with a surgical team that performs rigid operations on the horse's neck such as slings and wobblers. Maybe is an option to consult of those who have good experience with both knowledge and experience of this condition to gain better insight into this condition. It hurts to see Yvonne so sad and facing the choice for Risey's future. He means so much to her and to us as well who have followed his entire life from the beginning together with Uniek. Whatever that happens, we have great confidence in Yvonne's decision. Sending lots of strength, healing, faith and love to Yvonne and Rising Star!❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yvonne is the only one to decide for Risey. Whatever she chooses for him, she will have my total respect and support. 💜

I feel like if the time comes for Risey when you have to make the hard decision, something will happen to make you sure in your mind. You’ll have a clear sign that it’s the right thing to do. If you still have doubts, then there is still time and hope. We all love him and want him to have a good life. If that is no longer possible we don’t want him to suffer. I still have hope! ❤

These videos were done back in the fall to winter of 2023. I'm pretty sure she is still working on Risey and doing acupuncture treatments. I thought I saw him when she posted a recent video not too long ago.
So true and so sad 😢. We all love Risey deeply, but have faith that Yvonne will make the best decision for him. So tough 😢❤ However let's still keep the faith for our dear Risey ❤

It makes me sad Yvonne has the added burden of worrying about all of us and how we will feel. If she has to make the hard decision, we ALL know she was given it so much thought. Shes been to every specialist possible. I know she's cried countless tears and spent as many countless sleepless nights. We are all sad, scared and worried for Risey. Yvonne has those exact same thoughts a fears times 100.
We need to start reminding her we have all the faith in the world that she will make the right decisions every step of the way on this journey.
We love you Yvonne, you mean to much to so many of us, that is just how it is.

This video is 4 months old, Yvonne has said more recently that Risey has picked up a little bit and he has been gelded so he is still very much part of the herd. He seemed to have an improvement after the acupuncture, I hope that treatment can continue. He seems content doing his own thing.

I didn’t realize that the videos were 4 months behind. Yvonne did say that he is doing better after being gelded, but I didn’t know the timeframe. Hope his treatments continue, too! ❤❤❤

Even we can see that Rise is having a hard time. We know you will do what is best. Those choices are some of the hardest we ever make. I put down my Hank because he had a no chance of recovering or having a quality of life. It was probably one of the only times in 69 years I was 100% unselfish. He was in pain and couldn't go out, he couldn't get a good breath, and was suffering. It has taken me 1 year to stop crying daily, not because I think I made the wrong choice for him, but my heart is still missing him and always will. God bless you Yvonne and give you strength and peace. YOU ARE AMAZING AND WE LOVE YOU.

I have a dog that got very sick last year everyone said put her down but she was still fighting so i told her as long as she wanted to fight i would fight with her and i asked god for a miracle today she is healthy and doing well so as long as risey is willing to fight don't give up miracles really do happen best wishes
My dog had same got Anaplasmose with 6 wasn't unable to move and afterwards eating dry food.
With cooked food homopathic and bioresonance he lived nearly 11years and happy running with falling in a walk in minutes dying outside in my arms. Animals are good decision makers if we let them going with their nature.
It's better not feel pressure what they give us but they want for themselves ❤
I think it's very unclear what happened with him and I notice that he walked for him more secure and very nice reacting with his back and mind. Much more comfortable as with both coalts.I felt every time very unshure for him because Friesian colts seems naughty and not really soft and sensitive.
Risey is happy he tries best he can and time is all one can give right now. i have no idea wht the right thing is for i am not in your position. i am sad for you and Risey its heart wrenching no matter how you view it. Started watching other horse channels and yours is by far the most personable thanks for all your hard work.

I agree. You do not have to ride a horse to give him his best life. Retired horses owe us nothing, Risey owes you nothing, Look how sucessful you have become because of araiseys story. Pain free life being a paddock ornament, is far better than no life, it costs you nothing compared to your sucess because of him

The danger is with Risey's clumsiness from wobbler. He could more easily break a leg or twist his spine and be in great pain. So far he has had minor injuries when he's caught his front legs with his back hooves. He also has to be isolated while the other horses live in herds. I trust Yvonne to know if Risey's quality of life has dropped too far. So far Risey seems relaxed and happy, eg. he plays, eats and sleeps easily

When a colt looses his mom so young he doesn’t stand much of a chance to survive but you gave Rising Star 2 and a half glorious years. Treated better than lots of horses. Be proud of the life you have given him and no matter what your decision is know that you gave him the best of those years.

It breaks my heart to think that Yvonne may be making decisions with Risey so that she will not let the viewers down and does not want us to think less of her. This is very, very difficult, and a journey that must be made with the head as well as the heart. If Yvonne needs to make a decision to put Risey down, she needs reassurances that we are behind her and that we will always remember Risey fondly. (repeat of late post yesterday).
I believe Yvonne will sort it out eventually....and do not envy her such a decision....in the meantime, she is doing her best.
What more can anyone do??
I believe she need concentrate on Her horse and Her general situation....we are but ( interested and caring, ) " interlopers".. I wish her all the best that life can offer....and strength to deal with Rising Star!

Yvonne you are the only one who can make the hard decisions about Risey. We your fans can state our wishes, but it’s your right to decide. I for one will back you no matter what you decide. ❤️ I’ve had to make hard decisions about some of my pets (dogs, cats, fish) it’s never easy with life and death. We love you Yvonne and all the horses.

when my cat was diagnosed with lymphoma at age 6, I was offered intensive chemotherapy because he had a less common form, one that in dogs, can go into remission. I had no idea what it would be like for him, but when the oncologist said we could stop at any time if it was too much, we went ahead. I asked my cat to let me know if he was OK with it, and after every session, he would burst out of his carrier once home and sprint around the huge garden we had like a happy madman. like the boss of everyone he was. 💛 he only threw up once and was otherwise fine, and lived to 17.5. so take your cue from Risey. 💙 he will let you know. I know there are other concerns like safety, of course. we trust in you, and in Risey
he already must live isolated from other horses...a sad existence for a herd animal. and gelding him has not solved the issue that he could injure himself or other horses, or worse...Yvonne or the kids.
@@meycoe I can see what you’re saying. At the same time, he has contact with other horses, dogs and humans. He lives in the same barn with the others and has many of the comforts of a herd.

That's a very similar situation with my cat. He let me know and I feel Risey will let Yvonne know if he's had enough.
I have had to make that very hard decision several times it is not easy what I have experienced is when it is time you feel it and just know . We are all thinking about you and hope for the best.
There is my boy, Risey is so much fun to watch. He always seems to enjoy himself!
I can't imagine how hard it is for you Yvonne, to watch Risey stumble and move so poorly. Sometimes it's more merciful to put animals down when they have such serious illnesses.
Not only that but you are a young mom with two very young sons and a spouse and work and a limited budget as well as limited space...nevermind emotional and mental space.
Watching Risey fail in health is a heavy burden to carry...and maybe you need to take care of your own self.
We women carry such heavy loads...don't carry something out of guilt.
I want you to know I put my dog down when he was ill because he didn't feel well and I could not afford the meds he needed. It was one of the hardest decisions I made...I miss him so much.
But letting go of the worry and guilt and stress (about meds and special foods and the pain of seeing him decline...)...this heavy load I carried every minute of every day---that I do not miss.
I guess I am saying that this decision about Risey is YOURS ALONE TO MAKE. Choose what is best for you. Do not worry if some of the "herd" has "opinions" about your decision.
I will support you no matter what it is you choose.

Oh my goodness that is heartbreaking see Risey like that😭 Yvonne if you feel, in your heart that you are doing what is right for Risey, than that is what is right for him!! Yvonne more than likely felt under obligation, somewhat....she asks us to tell her what we would like to see in the videos.. Many of us have asked to see Saly ridden!
I am very happy to see Saly ridden...just not absolutely essential that YVONNE ride her, in person...only that she is ridden, receiving her exercise and not becoming more nervous!

I think Risey should do what Risey wants to do. If he wants to kick up his heels, let him. If he just wants to stand there, let him. He seems happy and doesn't seem to be in pain, so I think all is good for now. He is so beautiful and he seems so happy. He doesn't appear to be in pain at all, but you would know better because you are with him. I think you will know if he is in pain and then you go from there.
Yes, he seems to be happy and not in pain. Agree with your thoughts about Yvonne’s decision making, for what that’s worth! 🤔He needs to move to be healthy, so a balance is necessary. Usually other horses will stimulate one another to move. So, having a person do that instead can work.

Yes in this video the wobbler was very noticeable in Risey even for a novice like me. This video is several months old now and from what I’ve been reading Risey has been gelded and appears to be doing a bit better. All we can do is pray now & give our love & support❤️🙏🏻

So sorry about Rising Star. I've seen several wobblers, in horses and in my Dobermans and Danes through the years. My only comfort was that after the acute onset they really weren't in any pain. Our hearts are painful though when we make the final decision. Love to you Yvonne.
Yes I saw Wobblers in Dobes but mine were fine. Those that had it sometimes deteriorated rapidly but Risey hadnt done that. I know one had the surgery it was successful but very specialised only 2 specialists in the country but you couldnt do the rehab she had with a horse
So dogs get it, too? I had somehow never heard of wobblers, until Risey got it. It's so heartbreaking, when a young, healthy animal has a condition like that.
Yvonne, Your heart hurts over the agonizing decisions facing you about Risey. I have only begun following the herd since my son died in October, 2023. Because of my grief, I see so much love, beauty, and peace through your eyes as I watch you with your horses and family in a beautiful place. You seem wise and experienced. Trust your mind and heart about Rising Star. I know the safety concerns worry you a lot. There’s not a right or wrong decision. You can only make the best possible decision that you can live with. Most, if not all, of us who have come to watch and love you with the herd will support you completely. Maybe try not to get stuck in an endless cycle of analysis paralysis by yourself. Is it possible to ask you husband and close friends to sit down with you to discuss the pros and cons of Risey’s situation so you have some support from people you see and trust on a daily basis. Yvonne, you will know when and if the time is right. I have had many animals over the years, including horses….I think that they let you know, in their own way when the time has come. Try to enjoy your time with Risey as we all know your love for him is immense. Much love and prayers.

What tells you he is not in pain? Animals don`t sit in the corner and cry when they are in pain..... Look at dogs with broken legs who are wagging their tails when they see their "Mum and Dad".... Only dying animals hide and fade.
@@sabireiYvonne has stated several times that he doesn’t seem to be in pain and is happy at this time. That’s who has been telling us!!
There's a safety issue to consider here, too. Yvonne needs to think about the safety of herself and family as well as Risey's wellbeing. Supposes he tries to gallop around in the pasture when Yvonne is at Stal H, falls, breaks a leg. Can you imagine the pain & anguish he (and Yvonne) would experience if something like that happens? I hate to see a life end, but sometimes it's the best and kindest thing to do.

I love seeing you ride Saly! I had asked a while back in a comment if you ever rode her and you hinted that we might be seeing it soon. She's definitely a work in progress, but a nice project if you have more time to train her. Additionally, I think the time will come when you know the right thing for Risey. It will become clear and then you won't have doubts. All of our thoughts are with you and Risey ❤
SALY has been very well trained...and Yvonne had a hand in her training.....she is simply out of practice ..and scared of the movement and shadows from those big trees!

Saly surely is trained well and I bet she is a dream to ride on when she gets a little bit more used to training again 😊 her gaits must be heavenly when she trots without tension ☺️
The end for Risey is getting closer. If he can't walk normally and is in danger of falling, that says it all. Give it another month. If it progresses worse a little more, then it is best to end it. I think Risey is starting to get frustrated that he can't walk and jump like he should.
He's already getting a little better and his condition isn't worsening, according to latest updates.
Nobody really has the answer for Risey. But we all came on Earth for a reason.
And Rising Star has certainly spread a lot of LOVE❤❤❤ joy and positivity in his short life.

Maybe we can’t say anything you haven’t already thought about. However, when we lose hope we sometimes think with our heads and not with our hearts. Take a breather, search your soul, pray and find peace and your hope again. God bless you

Risey is a happy horse, he does not look like he's in pain. He's enjoys eating. I would not put him down.
He is not in pain from wobblers. He is at risk of serious injury and resulting pain as a complication of wobblers.
Rising Star sure looks like he is having fun and enjoying life. Please don't take that away from him.
Yvonne, whatever you decide is the right decision, because it's right for you. Remember for you to heal you have to have peace. Do what's best for you. If money is causing stress, we'll donate to the Risey Wellness Fund. Just let us know!!

I think you will find the shavings easier to clean out for the stalls. Straw is hard for me and I only use it when my mares are having babies. :) Can Risey be a companion horse to someone that needs just a friend for their horse? It doesn't look like the woobling isn't really bad where is he falling all the time. I wonder if the farrier can trim his front hooves? Is he strong on his back end for that? That would certainly be a concern if that can't be done. You are doing your best Yvonne. I thing it's wonderful you've give this time. I so love Saly, it's nice to see her being ridden by you. I can't believe she is 10 years old now. How time has gone by.

Yvonne only you can decide what’s best for Rising Star. I know the news hasn’t been good, but if you need to carry on and as long as Risey isn’t suffering..do what you need to do. I know it’s very tough and I am so sorry you and Risey are going through this.
Homestead Horsemanship a yt channel i follow has a Clydesdale Oliver that had Wobbler and he is cured now. He started his recovery last year around this time maybe you can ask them what for medicine they used to help Oliver. Ik hoop dat je Rising kan helpen met deze info.

We can see and feel some of the pain you have thinking about our beloved Risey. As you explore what to do about him, I haven't seen you mention surgery as a possibility. That is the only way to have a chance to fix or at least improve his hind legs. I hope you will look into this. Please know that we will help you financially! Take him to the best vets you can find. We continue to keep you and Risey in our prayers. Helen P.S. Please ask the vet if making him run and jump may cause him more pain and increase the risk of injury. It isn't worth it just to see that his hind legs are impaired. They are.
Don't encourage him to jump around at all as long as you just keep loving him and letting him walk around and and do what he feels like doing I think you'll be much happier and you'll still have your big boy with you..✝️❤️✝️ if you're positive that he's not in pain just encourage him always to just gently over to you and you'll have him maybe longer to LOVE and be with.❤❤❤

He looks happy. Just don't judge him by human expectations. A LOT of factors have to be considered. And Yvonne knows him best.

This was filmed in Nov.2023. At Christmas time, Yvonne saie Risey was not better but also not worse.
Thank you for giving Risey time and hope. Maybe I'm being stupid but jumping and being ridden may just not be his things. Maybe he just likes light exercise and enjoys his life as it is.He looks so happy and he doesn't seem in pain. Not everybody is sporty. Just take your time and you and Risey will make the right decision. ❤🐎
Seeing you ride Sally really puts into perspective how big Queen Uniek really is, lol! I think Sally really enjoyed herself too. Yvonne, I know you need to be careful to not get injured again so you can be there for your family for a long long time but don't allow your mind to interpret that as insecurity. You are truly a gifted horse woman. Let your natural instinct lead the way. Sometimes our mind and the fear it breeds can overtake reality. You may have some physical ramifications from the accident but your second nature with horses remains the same. Just as with Risey, give yourself all the time you need. You've got this!!!!!

It is so interesting to learn you needed to find a good substitute for hay after a rainy season and that flax is a good option. In the six years I can count on one hand--less--that I've seen Saly ridden by anyone, so I am really happy you are facing your anxiety and riding her. She is a very lovely horse. It seems very unfair that the place Coralle came from (breeding facility) gave you no history of her riding experience. It makes she seem just a commodity and once her use is over..... I know you won't let that happen to her, Yvonne. Be at peace with Rising Star and know he has had a good life after his mother died.
Saly, as I recall, was often before the cart....and am sure the young ladies at Goengamieden rode her!
I also do not recall seeing her ridden very often... Does not mean she was not;
Maybe the fact that no history of Coralle' s riding experience is shared because she is not meant to be ridden?
It seems unfair, especially to Coralle, but when you send a beautiful mare out to be a surrogate, the expertise of the hirer, is not known...
@lisajoyaslanis I'm fairly certain that Saly spent time with Rikst being ridden. So we didn't see it but happened.

Before my gelding lived outside, in his box I mixed linen litter and wood pellets, it was effective and it prevents it from smelling like ammonia because of the urine (I cleaned the box every day but when it's hot it smells strong very quickly). I also installed rubber plates on the floor to provide more comfort for the horse and prevent him from slipping on the ground. It also allows me to use less litter, which is more economical. Regarding Rising Star, I think it would be good to contact the Equitom Lummen clinic in Belgium (if you haven't already). They're operating on Wobbler's cases, maybe this is an opportunity for Risey to take 👍🏼

Yvonne….Please seek out the best of the best horse Veterinarian, so you will have peace of mind! I did that when my German Shepherd had spine cancer. Once they sedated him for the MRI and they saw the extent of damage, we were advised to let him go. 😞. He is with me in my heart forever 💕

Please don't lose hope or faith, Yvonne Rising Star jk 🐴 ⭐️ is not in any pain. From what we can all see from all around the world, he will let you know if he is hurting, but still, please give him some more time. I know it's not easy seeing him being all wobbly and unsteady on his hind legs and feet. I do hope that improves with him. Maybe you should try the Chinese needle pin medicine thing with him again he really improved with that.

Yvonne, give Risey time until the age of 3 years old and see if his wobbler rights itself along with all the treatments, if then at that point, there is zero improvement, then we have your back in whatever decision you choose to make.❤ my prayers are constantly with you and Risey always

Let Risey live the best life he can have with these troubles. You have to accept that the plans you had with him probably will not work. As long as he is not in pain or seriously injured or getting worse and worse he can spend his life without work and duty.

I'm concerned that Risey's condition is looking worse and I think it's potentially dangerous. He could hurt himself or you! Poor sweet Risey, and my heart goes out to you having to make such a difficult decision.

Honestly I’ve never seen a more committed,dedicated guardian than Yvonne H when it comes to caring for her herd from Nieky,Risey and everyone in between they get only the best with Yvonne putting her heart and soul into giving them the life they deserve with of course a little help from some amazing herd cores you know who you are thank you!! I think Rising Star seems worse since the treatment with Albert. I liked osteopathic vet, Rodinde Hoogenraad. Is she expensive? What are Albert's qualifications? From what I have read, Wobblers can seem to improve and then get bad again. But he seemed way better when Yvonne first put him into pasture. He appeared to be running around, trotting, etc., without the weird gait he displayed in today's video.
I don't mean to be rude and this may just be me being paranoid but I wished she would go to non-specialists because it's pretty clear that the people she's consulted so far, have more experience with Friesians. When it comes to equines, different breed is more important than people tend to think and I personally don't like the fact that she's giving him more Friesian oriented diets (sure these are for horses in general but some horses may require a different one). It's pretty clear that Rising Star is not growing in the same way Friesians do, If she would go to vets or healers who have more experience with KWPN, I bet she would get a more constructive diagnosis.

@@darn4285 I hear you. I'm not impressed by the care Rising Star has received so far. She said she has consulted with numerous vets but I don't know if they have actually seen Rising Star in person or if she just talked to them on the phone. Vets are expensive, and it's hard to find ones that you trust. A lot of the time, they are just guessing. Someone has stated that Rising Star is getting special vitamins, etc. But I don't see any special food he is receiving. He needs A LOT of Vitamin E. Everything I have read says that's like the first thing. Wobblers seems to be a mysterious problem. Very unfair for a horse this young to have something like this. I really hope Yvonne finds a good vet for Rising Star that has expertise in his breed and in the coordination issues he's having. She needs to feel free to reach out if she is having problems affording special vet care for him. And, if she decides to continue with osteopathic / acupuncture vet care, he needs to be treated way more often.
