My 2 favorite were the Power ball shells (seem to be the loudest but didn't have the low frequency like the cans did) the riot was the best out of the cans in my opinion. However not being there in person it could just be the way the microphone was picking each one up.

That's because they are illegal and are a 1.1g or 1.3g shell that has been sold as a consumer grade 1.4g shell. :p It's a felony to possess these without the ATF license as it's considered a low grade explosive. That's why nobody wants to tell you where they get them. :D

No difference. All 1.4g aerial fireworks max out at 130 milligrams of flash powder or it becomes 1.3g class. One may be weaker and less flash powder than another, but size or shape really doesn't matter, they all are required by law to stop at 130mg flash for arial shells to qualify for 1.4g consumer fireworks.
@@cmoneytheman i should qualify that last reply of mine with "except in the case of a manufacturer overload of shells" but you aren't going to find those at the big box fireworks stores, you're most likely to find them at little stands and such where the seller wants to have something the big stores don't got. Also I suppose they could use less flash powder in the break for more lift or stars. a 1.4g arial shell maxes out at 60 grams of composition including stars and lift, so a shell could be "bang light" and effect heavy, or go higher and they sacrifice from the bang or the effect.
