Our guest on the show today is Captain Suresh Babu, it's truly an honor to host him in our space. He is an executive officer of the Indian navy who is a specialist deep sea diver and marine commando. In his 33 years of service, he has commanded various naval ships and shore establishments including the premier marine commando base at Visakhapatnam. Being a specialist diver, he has planned coordinated, and executed various marine archeological exploratory dives on the ghazi wreck off Visakhapatnam, sunken temples off Visakhapatnam and Mahabalipuram, sunken ships off Karaikal and sunken ship off Lakshadweep.
In an age where American Marines and their British equivalents are celebrated all over the world, it is crucial that Indians get to know about our Commandos as well. This podcast aims to spread the word about the incredible Indian Army.
In this stellar episode of The Ranveer Show, we spoke about the marine commandos of India, Somali Pirates, the various animal dangers, combat experiences and so much more.

It was ins rajput who destroyed gazi....my father was serving india navy during that war nd he was commissioned in vikrant but transferred to ins kukri nd before joining kukri he we send to ground office..my dad is no more and he was very reserved person...he often used to say that Karachi port was burning for several days as indian navy what they call fridgets or destroyer which completely burned Karachi port as nd whole Pakistan shore was sealed by Indian Navy...gazi chief vowed to destroy vikranth but fell in trap of indian navy and was hit by ins rajput which was waiting for ins gazi...it is said the first hit of ins rajput was perfect on bulls eye the second shot sank ins gazi...😊😊🙏🙏

There is no confirmation that it was INS Rajput’s depth charges that sunk PNS Ghazi. That’s why, in this video, the Caption said that “one of the theories” is that Ghazi’s own torpedoes/mines exploded.
The aircraft carrier which is shown in this video is the current ins vikrant, which is India's first indigenous aircraft carrier. But, in 1971 ins vikrant was another ship.The ship was laid down as HMS Hercules for the British Royal Navy during World War II, but was put on hold when the war ended. India purchased the incomplete carrier in 1957, and construction was completed in 1961. Vikrant was commissioned as the first aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy

Reality is that Ghazi was trapped between an Indian submarine and another ship INS Raajput.. Finally Ghazi struck with depth chargers released by INS Raajput and got destroyed.. Well-done Indian Navy.

My grandfather was nominated was nominated in 1971 from Pakistan navy with Ghazi.. however at 11th hour his name was shuffled with his course mater..yet buried in the deep sea after the explosion

I've read the book "1971" by Gen Ian Cardozo, it suggests that it was because exceedingly harzardous amounts of Hydrogen gas build up in the submarine which caused this explosion, all the mines and torpedos went off at once and all the people there heard an extremely loud sound and water spouting up! They were all well awake as at that time Indira Gandhi was addressing the nation over National Radio.

I guess pns ghazi didn't drown of its mistake but was taken down by our vessel INS Rajput, which was waiting for Ghazi as it was getting repaired at Vizag port...

Just a note, any low ranking officer , not directly under Defence Release cannot deny or accept a Battle scenario to people of the nation until a INDIAN ARMY,NAVY,AIRFORCE personel has been killed in Action. This is done to maintain a deplomatic relation with other nations, So India wont accept the fact that it sank Gazi to maintain good relations with UN and nations and Porkistaan will always deny that India sank their submarine , just to maintain their long lost dignity in the 1971 .So a diplomatic answer is the one given by the Marine here in the video.Also he says one hypothesis is THIS.
PNS Gazi is only 32 meters below sea level . I was on board INS Amba as a engineer . Our diving team have conducted inspection many time for Gazi and I use to take divers by boat .

As per sunken submarine description (mouth blast may be because of blast at launching of torpedo) he mentioned initially..it seems true.
Yes it was destroying by mines ..we confirmed the next day that there was a pak submarine in our backyard after the debris float..this is the reality

Ghazi being scary only of the fact that it ventured into open seas for the hunt and accepted all the challenges it faced.. and still it is scary cuz indian navy had no submarines in 1971 and ghazi was on the hunt....

Not Ghazi, it is an Indian submarine that is placed on the beach at Vizag. Ghazi is still submerged, not worth taking it out.

Certain objects from PNS Ghazi are in the Vizag museum.Sharyar Khan had come here long ago as manager of the Pak cricket team; dont remember the year.We were asked by the authorities to remove them as it wouldn't be nice.I took Nawabzada Sharyar Khan personally to the museum.He would've been Nawab of Bhopal, if his mom, who was politically ambitious hadn't moved to Pakistan. Next day the press had a ball highlighting the facts that the objects were removed on the orders of the district authorities. Anyway, he was a very courteous gentleman. Late Nawab of Pataudi was his cousin

INS Vikrant was in Andaman, not Ghazi, Ghazi was informed that INS Vikrant will be in Vizag where Vikrant could have been initially, so PNS Ghazi went to Vizag. Since the very beginning PNS Ghazi was ordered to sail to Vizag, she was never asked to go to Andaman. Actually Vikrant had issues and was vulnerable to PNS Ghazi so the Navy shifted it from the Western Fleet to Eastern Fleet, Vikrant must have been in Vizag or anywhere near maybe in Bengal, but Indian Officials managed to access Pakistani messages by accessing their communications channels and got to know that Ghazi is coming to Vizag, thus they moved Vikrant to Andaman, and misinformation campaign was started by India to convince Ghazi that Vikrant was actually there but in reality it was INS Rajpoot, a destroyer.

Maybe their sonars must have been switched off because she was so close to the Vizag port... But if you believe this story you have to laugh at the crew and if you believe this is not true then clearly INS Rajput was waiting patiently for PNS Ghazi and made sure she met her maker

The INS Vikrant that was referred to in the video by Captain Suresh Babu was the first INS Vikrant from 1971 which was acquired from the Brits.
