So adorable I wish I could build as many nest as possible wildlife has such a difficult time as it is trying to just stay alive from so many threats from weather to power lines and even cars they are such admirable beautiful creatures I will always wish the best for each species thank you for sharing this beautiful clip
I've been watching & studying Bald Eagles since 2007. This is JMHO... That's not a young couple. That's Baker & a 4 1/2 yr old female intruder. When eagles mature they start looking for a mate. That's when we'll sometimes see the resident male or female get injured or displaced. As the population grows in areas we're seeing this happen more & more. Baker is not going to take on a female. He's not going to risk injury or death defending an empty nest with no eggs or eaglets to protect. She's not a threat. As you Noted... Bette & Baker showed up later that day. Did the intruder get chased out before Bette came in... that's something we'll never know. I've been watching this nest since it went live in 2021. This also happened back on 12/18/2022. A 2 1/2 year old female was in the nest moving sticks and such. That's what they do. As eagles mature they practice building nests. Some will even build a nest to attract a mate. Baker was perched at the outlook tree watching her the whole time. The female went up to the MB (mom branch) & a short time later Bette showed up & took care of business. I have never witnessed a young couple at a nest like this. It's always been single male or female intruders. I've seen a couple nests with 5 or more intruders competing to be the new resident. As mentioned this is JMHO from my years of watching these nest cams. No matter what... I hope this female has moved on.

Oh what a beautiful couple🦅🦅 🥰 We wish this young couple the best of luck and hope on their lifelong journey together 🙏💖
A beautiful pair. A beautiful nest. Prayers they find their place.
No eggs yet ❤❤❤❤
What a sweet couple! They are probably practising their building skills for when the time comes to find their forever nest
Makes me wonder if maybe their nest could have possibly been blown down in high winds. I wish these 2 the best. 🦅🦅
Young Eagles love playing house! Haha

Uh oh!
So there is another mated pair in the area? Were they possibly looking to take over this nest?
Bette & Baker would never allow that to happen, they've been in this area since 2010!
There’s at least two nesting pairs that have been in the area for a while. This would be a third pair, to my knowledge of nesting pairs.
Which one is the female?
the one with all the brown flecks on her head
@jenimac53 Thank you!
