That’s a really fantastic tutorial, thank you. I’ve just bought PTGUI and am not the most competent with image processing but that made so much sense. Really impressive.
Awesome video thanks Charles. I am just looking at PTGui due to lack of the right projections in Photoshop. And I think I need the Pro version to get the masking functionality...that seems really important! But it is expensive and while you get a perpetual license the upgrades don't last for ever!!
That is true - my license just ran out, although it lasted about 5 years.... You might want to try Hugin which is free, has the same functionality, but is slow with the second worst UI I've ever seen (the worst being pixInsight....), but free is free......
It’s now 212 or close to $400 PER YEAR! I would be fine with paying at one time but an annual subscription at that cost is insane. It does look really nice though, but how do use Pixinsite unless I have a really big deep space Mosiac and at least now I know how it works so thanks!
I'm just getting into astrophotography. Fortunately I have a license to PTGui Pro but it's an older version: (10.0.18). I realize an update for me is not too expensive but still I'm overwhelmed with all the endless gadgets and such for this hobby. Do you feel I'm ok with v10.0.18?
The update is a big one, and for me it's worth it. But if you feel you're paying too much have a look at HUGIN, which is the free open-source stitching alternative. The interface is a bit clunky and it renders much slower, but in theory it can do everything that ptGUI can.
Fantastic tutorial which is easy to understand, and void of irritating music background etc. LIKE!

Very informative video. Has made PTGui easier for me to understand. Thank you!
Excellent guide to PtGui.... Thank you

My good man thanks for that, you really upgraded my skill set and I have been using the program for years!
Another excellent PTGui tutorial (I've also watched the Syrp tutorial many times). Many thanks!
Better tutorial than PTGui themselves please do more especially one with horizontal cp straighten horizons on oceans
@Opus Expeditions did you post this somewhere?

I would throw the money at it when possible, I could not believe the difference in the latest version.
