I've always thought that the 93r was the most sensible approach to the concept of a select-fire 9mm pistol. I think that burst fire makes precious little sense for most weapons, but it fits perfectly for a weapon such as a fully automatic handgun, where the weapon weighs less, there's less to hold on to, and the cyclic rate is guaranteed to be very high. The extended trigger guard with the foldout grip I think also is a rather clever detail for how it gives you a positive forward point of contact which you have no chance of losing your grip on, and with your thumb hooked through said trigger guard, there is zero chance of your hand coming in front of the muzzle even if the foldout grip were to somehow break or fail, against all odds. More secure than any picatinny rail attachment, and when folded up you can fit this pistol inside a conventionally sized holster. Mr. Parola approached this weapon very cleverly. With the new and high quality magazines as made by MecGar for the 92 series pistols, you could even slightly shrink the profile of this weapon while retaining a very high capacity, an 18rd magazine with a +2 extension baseplate would protrude only a little bit from this grip. Something like a grip panel with a built in diode laser could also assist a gun like this for point shooting while leaving it just as compact.

How I actually found out about the Beretta 93R was from searching up what gun the Auto 9 from Robocop was based off of, turns out that the Auto 9 is a heavily modified Baretta 93R.

As a Beretta fan boy myself, I really appreciate your coverage of this world-class arms manufacturer, James! High class that goes BOOM . . . or in this case Boom-Boom-Boom . . .
I remember that Doug Oeffinger, owner of the old DLO Manufacturing that made a lot of the transferable Sten and MP40 receiver tubes back in the 1980s, carried a 93R as his EDC weapon. HIs reasoning was that he "had a lot of enemies"...........
I found one of these Beretta 93R’s with no mag laying in the desert South of Baker California TFS next to a bunch of brass that was fired out of it at a local’s shooting range. I took a picture before I picked it up and checked it out some. The 93R like some loaded 30 round MP5 mags that I found at the same place a few weeks earlier ended up belonging to the FBI who took 93R and the mags back. I was working as an inspector for the SBC SWMD SLFD LEI in a market County truck performing my job duties both times. I think that they were leaving these items on purpose to try to set people up, then again,,,, they might have been that incompetent????? Both times they were right on top of me with in minutes of finding the MP5 mags and the 93R in a few unmarked white SUV armed to the teeth. Anyway thanks again for another really good video.
This was a cool video, I really enjoyed it. I must say too, I've always loved the silhoutte of the 92 series.. I'm a proud owner of a 92x RDO and I aboslutely love it.
Hello James, thank you for the video, i was searching for more information in order to complete a free review on the M93R. Had no chance with Beretta to get more info, but now i have thanks to you :-) One thing i found most interesting and would be confirmed in this review is that books and other sources say that the 93R was created probably around 1977/1979. In your video however at 6:57, Mr Parola being with Beretta for 42 years this year 2022 (if i got that right) and thus joined Beretta in 1980, said "this pistol was created about in 1980s". Bingo. So again, thank you for the nice (envying) video of the 93R, especially the golden version is unique and the negligent discharge with it would have been worth 1 million, indeed :-) haha. Or Top Secret rpg
Great video!!! Thank you! God bless you all!
Ingenious design concepts!
the smoothest quality, the cream of the crap, a gun tweaked by constructor himself.
A golden ethalone in terms of making conclusions about techniqal abilities of a firearm
Love the sound of this beauty!
This was so great to see. Been a while since I've seen a TFBTV video! Keep killin' it!
So cool that you guys gave attention to the original designer/creator.
2009 Modern Warfare 2 vibes
My favorite side arm in MW2. I played hardcore so this was like a main weapon.
M93 Akimbos were so fun.
Keep up the good work.
Really enjoting the Beretta series.
