Hey! Very good indeed! Awesome❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Jacquelyn from Philadelphia (Philly baby) 1976 was a good year for REAL GOOD OLD SCHOOL MUSIC I WAS 27 then! I’m 70 now!
The Moog solo that opens up is to die for, I distinctly remember taping this track on an old TDK metal tape on Mike Shafts 'Taking Care of Business' show on Piccadilly Radio, Manchester way way back in 1981. My new Aiwa Ghetto blaster from Laskys in The Arndale Centre decided to eat it up for breakfast and that was the end of that... :( Thank God for UA-cam, this is some heaven sent revival ;)
Hello All. I am glad that you are enjoying this amazing album. I played electric bass and co - wrote some of the songs in the band Karma. What an HONOR! Great band lead by the late Reggie Andrews. Just an FYI - Reggie produced the two album we did. EWF were not a part of the project.
Good heavens! The ethereal sound of the Jazz room, Clouds Preston all-dayer May 1982, my first ever event! I am so happy to find this, never knew the name of group, track or album, just that unbelievable moog intro, horn section and chorus. I never forgot that sound and the dancers from 30 years ago, magic.
David Whitehurst I remember a few lads from Leeds, top dancers. Always at the Jazz-funk nights and all-Dayers around North West England in the early ‘80s. Legend, and Rafters, Manchester, Wigan Pier, Clouds Preston of course... Back when if you were a name on the streets it meant you were good at dancing, fighting your corner, chatting up birds 😂
I used to go - and remember being delighted when they played this in the main room. Great All Dayers.........followed by Judy Roberts - Never was Love and then Ray Baretto - Pastime Paradise. I was in HEAVEN! Wigan Pier All dayers also pretty good.
Judy Roberts “Never was love” “The other world” I still get goosebumps and emotional just thinking about those timeless tracks never mind hearing them😍
AT LAST!!! I couldn't find this album on youtube about a year ago. Heck, the group wasn't even listed in google or on wiki. Some kinda rock band was/is listed. I was beginning to think I only imagined owning this album. Thanks for posting this great sound. Now I'm going to check my list of missing 1970's Jazz/Funk and Classic R&B. Then I'm going to settle back, listen, and read a book.
Can't believe someone has posted one of my all time favourites!!!!!!!! Danced my a** off to this back in the very early 80's. Belting out at Clouds, Preston All-dayer! Still have the vinyl - Denice Williams is part of the chorus.
freein2339 So true, I heard some of their other songs, and they were excellent. This band was an incredibly tight outfit of master musicians. How they never rose to dizzier heights is a mystery to me.
Well , actually me and a few lads from Birmingham used to go horseshoe Tottenham court rd and we took the jazz fusion style to the Midlands and beyond , I remember going rufus slayer in manchester and they were mesmerized by the new jazz fusion style, and yes we had opposition too, but not for long lol ..... totally took over Birmingham and the north,1981 , horseshoes was the place , boo and Parnell, on the decks, this track was a favourite of mine sweet then still sweet now!!! Peace brehz
@RimoNo1 - Good to know someone went to Clouds in Preston at the top of Fishergate, I remember it was opposite the St. George Shopping centre (vague memory) and yes that Sweaty smoky Jazz room upstairs, very different and cool vibe from the funky stuff going on in the huge dance hall downstairs. Yes Judy Roberts killer track Never Was love the song always reminds me of Lonnie LS Expansions her other classic - Other world is a favourite also
To the Originals who shook their stuff with Paul Murphy, Mike Milliner, Jerry Barrie, Ray Fredricks, Jeff Brown the Muslim brothers, Richard Butler Original White Gary and all the other pioneers East West North & South London. From Jazzifunks at the Dominion on a Friday night to the first crusade that took London Style Jazz dancing to the Blue Note in Derby (1981). Blew their minds and they wanted to kick our heads in because they didn't get it. Dodging police on the way home, breaking down and bunking the train back to London with the Jazz crew, Lindsey Wesker and Ian Shaw. All on a Sunday night. Those were the Dayz
Traveled from Birmingham to horseshoe tottenham court rd with the man dem , friday night to hear boo and parnell play... sweet fusion and Latin jazz ,rollerskated to my sisters house in islington after and got the train back to Birmingham in the .morning happy days......
Appreciate Madlib for bringing me here

Oh yes! thanks for this!!!!
I hear Syreeta Wright's beautiful voice on this vocals.
Deniece Williams and Minnie Riperton were on this record too...I think.
nope Sir....Minnie RIpperton is not on this √
Yes - Syreeta and Denise! Minnie ... a friend of Syreeta's - not on the recording - nope.
Good stuff! I know Oscar Brashear when I hear him. That must be George Bohanon, too.
👍Oscar Brashear on Trumpet, George Bohanon on Trombone and Ernie Watts on Woodwinds!
@@CurtisRobertsonJr Yessir! Usually where you see Oscar, you see George. RIP Oscar Brashear. My introduction to him was through Earth, Wind & Fire.
Memoriesof Pacific Jam and Flora Purim...

No, he means the musicians, not some imaginary white bearded guy who sits on a cloud and controls everything.
