    I got one a month ago and it still smells terrible. It's dangerous because it doesn't switch off when you turn dial to on/off symbol. You need to unplug it or it will come on when you are asleep or not in the room. It throws out heat but doesn't heat a regular size room, maybe keeps it from freezing. Yes it's cheap to run but I don't recommend it due to its safety issue.

      Thanks for sharing. I have three of these now for other purposes, and have not had the issue of it not being turned off when set to the off position and plugged in.
      Also in terms of heating a room in a house (vs small area in a camper) its not going to work, its a desk heater. So is designed to keep your feet warm under a desk, or top bits if on a desk.

    So right now I'm a class a 1990 pace arrow. I'm using a gold zero 1500. I started with it being charged at 50 %. I know tha same luck as this guy. I have a small Cheep electric room heater. It can use 1500 watts on high but I have it on. Low. It turns on and off buy it self. So that saves power. Every 20 min it comes on for 2 min. I think I will make it through the night with this much power.
    Other things to consider is as follows
    I have closed off the rear bedroom. I'm not heating the entire rv just the rear bed room.
    I'm in california so the outside temperature is 46 f
    Inside I am at 68 f
    I have closed all the windows and also coverd them up.

      I have not tried it yet, but others have also recommended these 12v powered blankets, I may try them in the future.

      @@SpectrumGeeks yea I would rather not breath in and out cold air all night. I tested my way all night last night it worked until I ran out of power. The temperature in the rv was 60 in the morning. I would have to say that it worked! I just need more batteries power. I just got 3 batteries 100 watt hr lithium batteries I think that will get me through 4 nights. I will let you know.

    How come nobody will answer these comments I want to know if this thing will run a 1500 watt heater for 8 hours on a full charge

    • @SpectrumGeeks
      @SpectrumGeeks  2 місяці тому +1

      If you mean this particular Jackery battery pack when you say this "thing", the answer is no as it only has a 500w inverter.
      If you want to run a 1500 watt heater for 8 hours, I would recommend a 2kW inverter and a 12kW / 1000Ah battery storage.

      Definitely not! 1.5kw x 8 = 12kwh so a 500wh battery would last 20mins if it could produce that power which it can’t. Diesel heater would suit your needs

    Electric heaters are absolutely useless, especially for someone like me who lives and sleeps full-time in their SUV. They quickly use up valued battery power, even large Ecoflow Delta units, so not worth the bother. Plus I always have all four windows slightly open day & night all winter for fresh air, ventilation and to prevent condensation and mold.
    So for the past 5 years I've used zero heating. I simply wear high quality goose down clothing, boots and gloves during the day, if reading or watching a film. I prefer to sleep naked, even in minus -15C temperatures high up in the mountains, but an expedition goose down sleeping bag keeps me toasty all night. But it does get frosty on the butt cheeks if I'm going for a pee in the middle of the night. 😂

    Unfortunately you didn’t plan and have the Jackery fully charged before you made this video!

      True, but can still get the idea if it was a viable option or not.
      Thanks for taking time to comment.

      Hello Sir. I noticed the mini portable heater has a 3 pin socket. Can it be connected via USB power bank. Reason why I am asking is I am a bus driver, I am looking for a portable heater which can be connected using my power bank so I can carry it with me on the bus.

    Get a 120w tube heater. It will heat the camper enough to sleep comfortably all night with low consumption

    dont waste ur time with eletric heat, get a cheap diesel heater an u can run it upto 5000w all night for few dollars worth of diesel

  • @samlazar1053
    @samlazar1053 8 місяців тому

    Not just that but it will destroy ur battery quickly
    It alwaays amazes me when people use a heater on a car battery 100ah then say my battery was destroyed after 10 cycles

    • @SpectrumGeeks
      @SpectrumGeeks  8 місяців тому

      I think the key is what the battery was designed to be used for. A car battery is there to crank an engine really, not a sustained power supply in my opinion.

      Not so much a test, just saying such a setup can be of some benefit it forced to be off grid.
