@@Yukimuracse I get your point, and agree with it. However, there's a difference between being good and being elite. Also, like you've said, we're comparing him to other Pros, not the average BH player. Pavelski is a good Pro Player, he's just not an Elite/Top Pro Player, who can get Top-8 in every tournament and can get Top-4 in most of them.

This matchup was pretty bad for pavelski. Katars/sword punished guantlets a lot. Plus Godly is way more disciplined than pavelski. Imo pavelski can be more clutch and explosive, but his agresiveness is too predictable for players like godly, and godly being so stable and disciplined didnt fall for the bait or tried to play on pavelski style. The game was played the way godly wanted to.
i agree accept for the clutch / explosive part. pavelski can only get wide strings on dodge reads off gaunts / scythe godly can do it on unlikely weapons (sword / hammer)

saying "matchup was pretty bad for pavelski" sounds like it's a excuse as to why he lost. as if the conditions or luck were against him. pavelski lost because godly is a better player,,, simple. there was no matchup shenanigans that had anything to do with it. pav and godly could both play random and godly would still win because he's just a better player.

This set really shows gauntlets main problem- it can't kill. Yes godly was way better than pavelski but it either needs one more true combo or make n-light kill earlier.
They need to bring back 3 piece combo, but I think making it situational would make it "balanced", for example it only working at 90 dmg >

Gauntlets are fine, the N-Light buff I actually agree with though. Thing is, Gauntlets are super tricky to balance, they can easily become overpowered by the slightest change, we've seen this over and over again. A D-Light buff to make it faster, along with buffing N-Light to make it kill earlier, would be enough. Going back to the 3-Piece era is not even remotely balanced.

one thing i have observed is that godly doesn't read only during combos, he's reading you all the time, from where you are going to land to when you are going to attack, he's got a very unconventional gameplay, unlike old metas where you either do 0-death reads or play like an average diamond

I wonder what a fully locked in Pavel would look like. Not that he takes the piss on these tourneys, but content creation comes first for him and he's still a regular top 32 player with little to no trouble.
If he were to fully practice with winning in mind he'd be insane, but I wonder how much.

Sword is cancer.
I won't deny that you need spacing skills and a pretty good movement to play sword but the overall skill ceiling of the metas played atm just disappoint me.. I miss scythe-gauntlet-blaster meta days smh
getting beat by a simple weapon like sword just shows how much better the other person is. sword isn't like cannon, scythe, gaunts, katars where u can literally get 2-3 reads straight to death. with sword u have to win multiple interactions with a very predictable moveset and only 1 true combo starter
