It's knowing when and what hour to road hunt and where to road hunt that will pay off when stomping the woods isn't. Its thing like the moon at last last 45mins or mid day or playing the sun. I think that 2x2 you had run across would have stayed near by long enough to relocate him and maybe give you an opportunity. Either way great times and great video.
Never have I road hunted in the last 25 years. It is dark when I leave and dark when I return. Nor do I go back to camp to have lunch or drink a beer. Were I camp is were I hunt. You walk in more than a mile or two you see deer. Preseason scouting is a must.
same here, been over 20 years for me also since i started doing the same thing. Total game changer, usually in good shape throughout the year. Love hiking !!!
It’s a difficult zone to hunt in the public area anywhere east of pollock pines on highway 50 north or south side of the freeway just take the fire roads and find a place that looks good to you, good luck 👍🏼

Any of the lakes up ice house road have good camping for hunting season. Lot of pressure in that area good luck !

Anywhere up 88 above jenkinson is good as well just make sure you’re off private property 🤘🏼
They storm come too early during the season. It didn’t push the buck out like I want to.
Weather is a lot different this year. We’ll see how it wraps up the season

Yea D3 is being ruined by big groups in the Tahoe NF
