Just discovered these videos . What an amazing voice you have. Rich, Detailed, and concise will make it easy to binge in preparation for Balders gate 3. Superb !
It would be funny if you're a cleric and finally when you get a message or face to face with your God they talk with you like an influencer or twitch streamer, calling you "chat"
Thank you for another awesome video! I think it would be cool in BG3 if Mystra or Shar disguised as Mystra would show up and ask Gale why he is romancing Tav or an Origin character, and Gale is trying to explain that he's moved on (or has he)? Also, since I think the Absolute has something to do with the Dead Three, I think that Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul will be in the finished game of BG3. I wonder what kind of level of deities they are now since they have people worshiping the Absolute and how they relate to Jergal and Kelemvor.
It's actually very much impossible for a god to impersonate another God, their are a few who can but that's more due to it being special ability they have (Loth's son, Asmodeus, Set)
I think worship holds the power it does because of Ao, they (Ao) don’t need worship themselves but allocate power based on worship. So because of the “true” god, lesser gods are beholden to those terms.
WOTC really dropped the ball with how confusing the pantheon is in 5th edition. Nothing is clear and I doubt they will do anything about it. I do appreciate the video though, hard to make heads or tales of it these days.
makes one sad to remember how Dragon Age's lore about Fade and Spirits was so much better and made so much sense in artistic and philosophical way. and had such great potential to reveal info about Tevinter and Elven Gods that would make it even more beautiful and philosophical. once upon a time.
Older editions of DnD imply that the DM is like a god above all others. I thought it was just some cool meta game winks at the players but Wotc seemed to move away from something some consider "immersion breaking" Personally i thought was cool because alot of DnD stories and lore have alot to do with fate so it was like the dm god has taken an interest in your party and is guiding their fate for god or ill. Which is why couple years ago my play group rebelled and went full on end times in the forgotten realms to try and cut fates hold on everyones lives by killing all the gods and existence as a whole. It was the most fun i had in a campaign and ended with everyone burning their character sheets to symbolize them cutting the theards of fate that controlled them
I once did a story with a friend. Just making up stories where he is the main character. And i always thought of Gods gaining their power of purifying magic turning it into divine magic making them gods. All through being worshipped or following whatever they are the god of its ethics in grandious ways. this is insanely simaler.
if dig deep into Forgotten Realms lore you'll know family members rival each other 1 Bahamut and Tiamat dragon gods brother and sister 2 Selune and Shar sisters 3 Eilistraee and Lolth daughter and mother
After a brief study on dungeons and dragons mythology 2 gods picked my interest: oghma and eilistraee I want to worship them both but I don’t want to make more than one cleric, if I made a oghma follower drow cleric would it still considered eilistraee follower too?
So basically, gods are like influencers and they disappear if they don't have enough followers to hit the like button.
So dramatic right?
Theirs a few that don't need them, but they still get a power boost from them
Mrbeast is the god of gods
Very helpful for those of us wanting a better understanding of BG3, but have never played D&D or read any of the books, and, as always, well produced.
More players and D&D fans need to discover this channel. Its amazing.

Really solid stuff as always S&S! Thanks for continuing to add background to this great (soon to be) crpg.
Another awesome video!! Great combination of lore and gameplay
I didn't know there were this many levels to the pantheon in DnD. Great content as always!
I love your lore breakdowns
Great stuff as usual.

Thanks for the video! I really would like to know what happened to Torm though?
Yeah, WOTC really mucked up the cosmology. Torm is one my favourite too so I hope they bring him back.
@@spellandshield I hope so too.

1 Bahamut and Tiamat dragon gods brother and sister
2 Selune and Shar sisters
3 Eilistraee and Lolth daughter and mother
Wait, The Dead Three are only quasi-deities in 5e? That's... lame. Was it ever explained why?
Nope. It is one of the great mysteries of 5th Ed. LOL.
holy moly that voice O_O u can be my DM any day xD amazing video!

The Witcher 3 music is top tier.
Are there clerics of mistra or is that just a wizard? Also paladins, is that just Tyr's clerics?
Background music please?
I was wondering the same and then I remembered. It's The Fields of Ard Skellig from The Witcher 3
@@reaganmccreary Thank yuo, i'm lost almost lost my mind.
