    I strongly agree with the swing back before punch tip. I have been experimenting with it and I think I have it covered. For anyone trying to get better at stop motion, this is a great tip👍

    • @GoldPuffin

      Thanks. Yes, anticipation really makes punches look a lot better. Don't forget that anticipation applies across a wide range of actions - most actions done by humans or animals anyway. I'm sure you've got that covered too :-) Thanks for watching!

    For my stop motion animation videos I use stop motion studio because it is very easy to set up and it shows the last few frames transparent which is very helpful when I accidentally knock something over or move my camera and is very helpful for the animations.

    When I make a character walk I make it balance three times when it’s doing a step, each balance the character is moves a bit forward more.

    • @GoldPuffin
      @GoldPuffin 4 роки тому +2

      That sounds like an awesome walk cycle! I only use one balance frame for each foot that goes forwards cos that's what I need for 12 FPS. If I went up to 24 FPS I'd probably be using 3 like you.

      Frame 3: put the foot down
      Frame 4: shifts to the middle of the two studs
      Frame 5: shifts a little more

      Frame 7: standing

    • @GoldPuffin
      @GoldPuffin 4 роки тому +1

      Hi, if you use the sets you bought it saves a lot of time. What I do is if I have a set that I bought that fits with the scene I just use that, but then if I do have what I need I build my own. Lighting - you need a lamp to place on your desk. Two lamps is better - one to light the set and one to make sure your characters are well lit. Actually the more lamps the better because you have much more flexibility on what to do.

    • @GoldPuffin
      @GoldPuffin 4 роки тому

      You can try doing it using masking erasing the bow. Another method is to actually cut the arrows out of the bow, if you have enough spare bow-and-arrow pieces. I don't usually advise anyone to cut up their Lego pieces, but if it helps to make a better brickfilm then it can be worth it.

    Hey, I was wondering how best to stop flickering in my stop motions. I have a literal industrial light but it still doesn’t pan out like I want. Maybe it’s because of other natural light or my own shadows?

    • @GoldPuffin
      @GoldPuffin 4 роки тому +1

      Yes, it could be your own shadows, it could be reflection from your clothes, it could be natural light, it could be your camera settings (if you have tjhem on automatic that can cause flicker), or it could even be your lights themselves. I'm going to do a tutorial on this, but it won't be for a few weeks at least.

    Umm just asking what app do you use for your stopmotion and editing app

    • @GoldPuffin
      @GoldPuffin 4 роки тому

      I don't use an app on a phone / tablet - I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. But I recommend Stop Motion Studio if you need an app. If that's not working for you then try Clayframes, PicPac or the Stikbot app.

    • @GoldPuffin
      @GoldPuffin 3 роки тому

      They are the same camera - there's just different names for it in different parts of the world. This article explains that: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canon_EOS_1200D

    does anyone know how to make your stop motion have a dark effect but you can still see the minifig and set?

    • @GoldPuffin
      @GoldPuffin 10 місяців тому

      my recommendation for this is to use lights that are part of your set rather than overhead and/or to use lighting from lower down / to the side. It does depend on what your scene is, if it's a street scene then place the lighting inside buildings for example.

    What software are you using to make the storyboard?

    • @GoldPuffin
      @GoldPuffin 4 роки тому

      I Googled "storyboard template" and downloaded an image file that had the squares in it. Then I just used Microsoft Paint to draw on it. When I do this for real I use a pen and paper because it's quicker and easier. I did it in MS Paint for this video because it was easier than drawing it on paper and then taking photos of the paper.

      @@GoldPuffin Thanks for replying. I'll try storyboarding with one of the templates.
