"Early Morning Sun is probably my favorite song on the album. It feels to me like it holds its essence; something on a brighter and lighter note (for the most part). The story behind Early Morning Sun stems from a trip I took to Mexico City in April 2022, where I stumbled upon and fell for a shelter dog that I decided to adopt and bring back home with me, all in a matter of a few days. Since then, Papi has become much more than just a dog to me- all you pet owners will know what I mean. This entire story inspired the lyrics to Early Morning Sun and ultimately influenced the whole album’s theme and ecosystem."
