- Despite finishing as runners up to England in the SheBelieves Cup, the USWNT is ready to break the wings right out of the sails. Only 4 more games left before heading to France, where they can defend their World Cup title and captured their 4th Star.
Our opponent, who is somewhere familiar, is Australia aka The Matildas. The USWNT has never beat the Matildas since the 2015 World Cup, but things could change in this rivalry. Will the USWNT break the drought?

Alex’s half time remarks so on point; i have the utmost admiration for all the girls. They play with such intensity, tenacity, give it their all. The one area that kills are the goal opps where except for Carli, they don’t get it on frame, their decisions are late, and their vision/cognitive/skills need work in that goal area. Yes Alex had a good one but how many sail way high or left right. She’s a great player, tenacious;but 100 could be 150. Hey, i love this team and want them to succeed. And they will 👍.

Lalas was right about Sauerbrunn getting old, wrong about the U.S. midfield. Julie Ertz and Rose Lavelle are stars, and the third player, whomever she is in a given game, has played well.

You can't outplay the US by trying to match their aggressive offensive game. They are too talented. As Canada did at the Olympics in 2021, you control them by a full on defensive style that stultifies their offensive advances. A good defensive strategy will be your best chance.
