जब भी इतिहास पर फिल्म बनती है तो जो कुछ जनता देखना चाहती है फिल्म से जो उम्मीद होती है की फिल्म सच्चाई दिखाएगी सही ऐतिहासिक तथ्य दिखाएगी ऐसा होता नहीं है फिल्म लव स्टोरी में ही चलती है रजिया सुल्तान की कहानी एक लव स्टोरी से बहुत कुछ ज्यादा है अलग है लेकिन फिल्म निर्माता निर्देशक स्टार पावर का मोह नहीं छोड़ पाते और फिल्म के हीरो हिरोइन ऐतिहासिक किरदारों पर भारी पडते है ये फिल्म इसलिए फेल हो जाती है पब्लिक की उम्मीदों पर खरी नहीं उतरती

यह फिल्म बॉक्स ऑफिस पर केवल मात्र भाषा की वजह से पिटी थी ‌। काश, निर्देशक ने भाषा हिंदी ही रखी होती तो यह फिल्म और अच्छा चलती और अपनी लागत भी निकाल लेती।
बाकी फिल्म बहुत अच्छी है, ऐसी फिल्में बनाने में आज के समय में केवल संजय लीला भंसाली जैसा निर्माता ही हिम्मत कर सकता है। कमाल अमरोही ने अपनी प्रतिष्ठा के अनुकूल ही फिल्म बनाई है।
