I like that you don't just complain about bad plays, you compliment the players when they actually do something right which is very refreshing. It seems like most people just chill and say nothing until someone pisses them off.
As an older league player, there is three big things they need to fix. 1. Fix the Client. So many newer players have no idea how to manage the client when starting out and I fervently recall hanging to help my newer guys in explaining every detail of the client. Optimizations would be great and less bugs would be awesome. 2. Make a tutorial for each role that accurately explains the game per role, and create mastery training for things like smite stealing, when to engage, csing under tower, etc,. Too many newer players don't know how the practice tool functions and they tend to auto pilot instead of actually practicing. 3. A seasonal relearner tutorial for newer players who aren't used to the game completely changing every season. Example being for newer players from season 13 going into season 14 having no idea how to adjust to the new map, monsters, and items. These changes might seriously help retention since we all know this game can be hell to get into. When large booms of popularity happens from things like Arcane, auxiliary games, or even from ESports it'd be great to make changes that would genuinely help newer players but most importantly holding that retention. In fact it wouldn't be a bad idea if they had pros or people very experienced with their lanes create tutorials in the league client to help newer people in those roles.
League is definitely not dead!! I've only been playing since December of last year! So far, my mains rotate around like Zeri, Jinx, Yuumi, Soraka, Ahri, and Briar, but I'm working on playing everyone at least once to get an idea of what I'm doing! Tips for other girls joining the fray: don't talk to people who ask if you're a girl, they'll tell you they love you after having known you for 1 total hour.

I think league is currently stagnating imo. Even the company said that most of the playerbase are the old players. I think they need to do some drastic rehaul to the game to make it more friendly to new players.
One issue is they'll have to handle smurfing somehow. People like ioki in this video just trolling in their ranked games doesnt help. The competitive integrity of low elo is cooked. Hes basically an advertisement for the game so its a net gain and he makes it look fun; but theres tens of thousands of players doing this. Mobas are also a very unattractive genre with GenZ and younger. Valorant took off with them, which is basically counterstrike. That shows riot is capable of rebranding a "dead" genre.
It won't be league that carries the moba torch forward. Its a know entity. And a lol 2.0 would just be a one time cash in of old players Its the concept of the game that riot or whoever can take into a next gen moba.
League is dead in the aspect that call of duty is dead. People know its rigged match making. The game itself is just naturally fun. So its played. People just arren't enjoying the terrible balance of the "rigged" games with the bad designed champions that are rewarded for playing against 0/10 0 cc 0 utility pure damage champs that aren't even farming properly. So yeah its "dead" as in it won't ever really grow anymore only going downward. But its not RIFT dead. Its not Anthem dead. Its old cod game level dead. Like the last years game.
