  • Female Pelvis also called gynecoid pelvis is a bony ring formed by 2 innominate bones, 1 sacrum and 1 coccyx. It provides the passage for the fetus to pass through during normal vaginal delivery. It has 4 pelvic joints and several pelvic ligaments. The pelvic diameters are of obstetric importance as they affect the fetal passage through the pelvis.

    But I felt like there is a small mistake at 0:56 where you mentioned about appendicular and axial skeleton.

      Thank you for your feedback 😊. I actually mentioned that the pelvis (specifically hip joint and sacroileac joint) forms a connection between the axial and appendicular skeleton. You can still check it out on a standard textbook.
