Hopefully it won't become something like fake limping 😂. Our boy did that after injury until he (woefully 🤣) held up the wrong dangling 'ouchy paw' on the 5th day and switched after we laughed at him. 🎉
So enjoy these updates. It is clear Todd is not just using his buttons for single rewards like toy or food. He is continuing a dialogue over several days about his state of health, very iimportant as he likes to eat dry food and now that seems comfortable and something that bothered him for some time, but not known until he had his buttons. Can’t wait for Todd to have more buttons and we learn more about his thoughts. Amazing!
Aww, it sounds like she had a long, good life. No matter how much time we have with them, it's never enough. Thank you for the kind words, and I'm glad you are here.
@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks true facts. My babies lived until almost 20, too. All short-haired tuxes but one. One of my tuxes had a "broken mask" like Todd's, but he was gray and white. The last kitties to leave me did so last year, so it's still a fairly recent loss, but it's true. Two decades is a lot of time for a cat, yet I'd still wish they'd have kept me company for another two... I wish they would've had access to those buttons, too, but by the time they became a thing, they were already pretty old. Thank you for taking good care of sweet Tood and sharing our language with him! ❤
I think when Todd asks you to look at him and waits to say "Happy" he might be saying that it makes him happy when you're looking at him/focusing on him. He really does want all of dad's time haha.
It's not just that Todd is telling you how he feels in the present, but that he's comparing the present feeling to the past. I find this fascinating! When he first started telling you he was in pain, the buttons were a major benefit to help you help him. That's when I really started wishing I could get buttons for the two cats that took over my home this year. Being strays, one severely starved and suffering systemic infection, and the other FIV+, I know they'll have health problems in the future, and I want to be able to keep track of their health before it's an issue. Having helped care for my son's feral street rescue who was older, and having felt helpless when he had symptoms that turned out to be very serious, life-threatening conditions, I just wish he could have told us he was in pain. My son only had him 3 years before he had to say goodbye at an emergency veterinary hospital after a crisis of non-stop seizures. I can't help but think he must have had headaches prior to the seizures. It was probably a brain tumor, plus he had advanced kidney disease. I just think it's so nice that Todd can tell you what hurts, so you can help him get treatment. And then to get confirmation from him that he knows he's not in pain any more is just the cherry on top. ❤
First off thank you for giving the two kitties a good home. I am also very sorry about your son's cat. Todd being able to tell me what is going on with his health was the whole reason we started the buttons as he has some chronic issues I must keep a close eye on. The added benefit is he can tell me his other wants and needs.
Yes, he has a great motor. The best is when he comes and cuddles me at night , we spoon, and the top of his head is at the bottom of my chin. I hear and feel it. Great way to fall asleep
Hmm, I’ve read all the comments and think what Todd’s doing is even smarter than those suggestions. I think timing is relevant here. He loves his Dad so much that I reckon the slight reprimand of Please don’t claw the board made him want to change the conversation quickly to something dad would respond to positively. Therefore… Happy head. Dads voice gets all warm and super friendly and all is very well in Todd’s world. He has manipulated the conversation… for everyone’s benefit (but mostly his!)
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalksWell I don’t know Todd like you do, but he definitely felt your comment, his ears went back further than the button error. If I’m right talking about Glamour was just the first thing he thought of to get everyone’s mind off his faux pas, his hesitation was partly because Glamour wasn’t his main concern then, but then he hit on a better conversational gambit!
I wonder if Todd has an ear infection from the oral surgery! That happened with my pup. Did the vet check his ears? I am so invested in this Todd’s Head Ouch series 😅
Yes, because he only has head right now on his button board to cover the whole area the vet checked his ears, eyes, sinuses, etc. The video Head Ouch Update talks about what the vet found. Thank you and I'm glad you are here!
When Todd looks up at dad and all you can see is the bottom of his nose and chin, it reminds me of the Peanuts comics when Snoopy is looking up and crying. ...Only Todd is happy. 😂

Well, what I want to know, is, does Glamour talk as well? Also, I'm interested in the setup, and are you mapping by color as well as by say "type" or "relational concept" or is it just random. I didn’t get my cat buttons but I repeat words to reinforce and he understands what I’m saying or referring to. It didn’t take long. Maybe 4 -5 separate times I’d say “Outisde?” And open the door to backyard catio for my cat. Or when he wanted to go into the garage and wait by the door facing it, I’d say “garage?” And open the door for him. Or as I’m pouring water into his bowl and fountain I’d say “water.” Each time. He got what the words meant fast. If I get buttons, he’d be able to communicate back, which I plan to get later.
I told him it is probably his mouth since he has surgery on that a while back bit I'm not sure as he doesn't have a word for mouth yet, just Head. The vet did find an issue in his mouth.
I just felt the need to let you know, because it greatly amuses me... My cat does not appreciate these videos. My cat's name is Buddy. My cat does not like the computer telling him 'hello' lmfao
That cat's understanding of these buttons is extremely limited. As far as Todd is concerned, half of those buttons simply mean "cuddle". "Ouch" means cuddle. "Bye" means cuddle. "Happy" means cuddle. All of those buttons always end up with you picking up the cat or petting him. He's just trying all of the buttons until you give him attention.
He will get one eventually. Since mouth is a sub group of head I want him to learn all the other major parts first. He can tell me his mouth hurts by saying head but I would hate for him to not be able to tell me his leg hurts because we learned mouth before leg.
We live where there is a large grove of trees backed up to our yard. One day we came home to our tuxedo injured with a huge gouge out of the base of his tail and the back of his head. We figured a hawk must have attempted to grab him and he managed to escape. Weve tried to keep him inside, but he was born feral so he got too colostraphobic. As a compromise, we only let him outside when we are out there with him. Never at night. Too many predators.
I don't think so. I think he knows I'm concerned about him and he wants me to know he's okay. I also think he is thankful that he can eat pain free now.

Where can I get some talking buttons?
Todd is a FleuntPet affiliate, and there is a link to the buttons in the video description. The link will get you 12% off anything totaling over 50.00 at checkout, or you can use the code ToddTalks.
He means come and grab my face and kiss my head.
I don't think so, he has kisses, cuddles, pets, and belly rubs buttons.
How do you have the patience to train a cat?? 😭😭
It takes time and patience, but knowing this is improving his life is worth it.
So what is it you told the vet? Todd said his mouth hurt? 😼
Glamour does not either. Here's a video of her expressing her distaste for the buttons the day I set them up. ua-cam.com/video/NHa9qT8myOI/v-deo.html
He's just trying all of the buttons until you give him attention.
the tooth ache must have been very bad then
It was more than a tooth ache. Here is a link to the explanation of what happened. ua-cam.com/video/oWGa3GGN55o/v-deo.htmlsi=klmQ4cSW80YKeqAp
Needs a mouth button next.
He will get one eventually. Since mouth is a sub group of head I want him to learn all the other major parts first. He can tell me his mouth hurts by saying head but I would hate for him to not be able to tell me his leg hurts because we learned mouth before leg.
Day 1, Todd head pets hmm?
😄
Can Todd go outside?
Good question
I do not let any of the kitties outside. We live on a VERY busy road, and we have lots of hawks around.
Maybe he’s just saying Head and Look because he wants attention!
That's a possibility, but he has cuddle, pets, brushes, and belly rubs buttons he can use for that.
You may have created a hypochondriac!
I don't think so. I think he knows I'm concerned about him and he wants me to know he's okay. I also think he is thankful that he can eat pain free now.
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks I agree with you. I was just kinda joking. He’s lucky to have you.
