what you guys dont know ist that you can give your dog raw egg beacause it will make there fur shiny and healthy. you can also give then the egg shells that hold alot of protien .
My dogs ( 3 of them) get oil. Cause it causes there coats to shine and helps them do there business. So small amounts of oil will not hurt a dog. I made these dog treats for my dogs and they loved them. I also took and added melted yogurt to the top of them. So it fine for them just not a lot of oil.
I just made 117 of these and only used half the batter. I thought 2 eggs was too much so I substituted 1 egg for 2 tbsp's more of the oil. I used a aspirin bottle to cut them out because my dogs eat so many treats a day, they need small ones. They LOVE THESE !!! And I still have more already to roll out and bake, when I get the energy ! HAHAHA P.S. My name is Bonnie too :)
I have 2 saints a german shepard and a sheltie... but we LUV saint bernards... so... my mom actually ordered a cookie cutter shaped like a saint Bernard and im going to the make the into do treats... thanx for the recipy!!
While I'm sure some of the ingredients used aren't good for dogs, people saying simply, "These are so unhealthy," or worse, "They'll make your dog fat!" ...You guys don't understand how treats work, do you?
Very easy to make recipe and my dog adored it. I woke up and my dog was on the counter trying to open the doggy treat jar. I guess she liked them tto mutch.
I buy these cookies that has the same ingredients as yours. Vanilla and Oil are added. Butter is used to grease the pan. My puppy loves them. I am sure she'll love your recipe as well.
Omg with this dog treats I had to go to 4 stores to get it but after giving them to my dogs and my friends dogs they were in love with them so awesome recipe
first half a cup of water half a cup of veg. oil 2 eggs 2-3 tbps. of peanut butter half a cup of corn meal cinnamon/vanilla 2 cups of flour half a cup of oats mix it up 20 min in the oven 400 degrees in the oven
I'm sure dogs love these treats. But for the dogs who don't tolerate gluten or wheat, take some oats and blend them until it's a flour like powder, and use that instead. Using oats instead of flour is just healthier in general, but they are just treats.
Love your recipe. Wish you'd have placed the recipe in the description text so I could cut & paste. But, I will type it and move it into our cookbook. I'll try it and see if my Poochies like it. Store bought are getting too much and (like you never) you never know what is in them. Thanks.
I applaud you for putting forth this effort. However, you are feeding numerous ingredients that are terrible for dogs. Do a little more research and eliminate that vegetable oil, flour and especially CORN meal. Those are inflammatory triggers and should be avoided at all times.
i made them for my dog with the corn meal and with out the corn meal they loved them they are realy good dog treat and they are healthy for your dog yes you an make them with out the corn meal
These ingredients are not good for dogs, do not make this for your dog unless you want them not to get the nutrients they need. This will get them fat and sick. Flour, are you serious?
Vanilla extract is fine when in small doses as it does contain alcohol.. It can be dangerous if given in large amounts. When in a treat like this it' not harmful and the flour isn't harmful as well as it is an ingredient and you're not giving straight flour to the dog to eat. These treats are ok and not harmful given in small portions hence the word "treat" not a meal.
Shiloh The Shepherd Lab Mix not ALL foods have it because it is BAD for them. Learn about it, then you can comment once you have actual knowledge of what you are talking about.
Well in nature dogs don't eat corn or wheat. It's really hard to find commercial dog food that does not contain it. It will not kill them instantly if they eat it but it can cause allergies and other things. The only reason those ingredients are found in dog food is because they are cheap. Now it is very easy to avoid those ingredients in homemade treats, so why not avoid them!?

It is a certain type of flour that you use the dogs can have and it doesn't kill them it makes them sick though and them does not have an e.
