I really valued hearing your honesty about your process and not doing everything in one go. I also find it helpful to do a little throughout my day to get me through a bad day. I am also left handed and find it fascinating and exciting to see other lefties right - I am not an “overhand-writer” but I often turn my page/book to the left vertical to me when I write it was so interesting for me to see you turn the page to the right. I also appreciated seeing how you hold the fountain pen as I never could work out how to hold the nib as a left to write smoothly. Your pages are so beautiful and inspiring and thank you for making something beautiful out of something damaged on your page - this is something I am working towards in my life too so I found it very supportive to see and hear. Much kindness and gratitude to you, I know this is an old video but I do hope your health is well and closer to where you want to be - Varsha. 💝🙏🏽

This is my favorite video of yours. I have always worked very chronological, but lately it has been putting my in a funk. I feel that itch to just glue and rip and write but don't have a story from the day I feel is worthy of a journal page. This has inspired me to work out of order and let creativity flow.

It's how I journal and art too! I am chronically ill and it just works for me! I work in spurts when I am feeling somewhat good and have the energy! I love how organically things come together then!
Not sure what surgery you are having! Sounds like you haven't gone through surgery before! You will be just fine but I understand your anxiety!!! Between me and the kids we have had a TON! Ugh so I am kind of used too it!
Thanks for sharing! Have a fab weekend!

Thanks so much for recording how you normally journal. So many people think they have to do it all in one sitting. Courtney, you are so my soul sister. I work in my journal the same as you bit by bit and almost never from start to finish. Also I love, love love working on the floor. I have a huge desk and its jealous of the floor, it's always been my comfy zone. Now my life would be even happier with a small table. I hope all goes well with your surgery.

Hello love, I was so inspired by your journaling. Please take it from someone who has had literally dozens of surgeries, do not stress! Your mind and body will heal so much better. Try to remember how much you mean to your beautiful family and those of us whom you give so much joy to every day! It is all a mind game and you must be the champion. I will remember you and yours in my prayers..

I love this so so so much! I have never seen this before on YT and it is so lovely to see how journaling is with you like a friend you chat to and hangout with throughout the day. I would love it if you could do more of these! Beautiful editing too. Hope you are recovering well from your surgery. I'll send healing vibes to you from the other side of the world :) xoxo

just want to say.. thank you for sharing a bit about your anxieties. I have been suffering it. more so within the last month. It is tiring and exhausting, in my head it is a constant battle of - youll be ok then...fk... im not and spiral with all my fears and worries. battle between the two. I had wisdom teeth removal surgery last yr. and I thought about how many many ppl go through it. Most walk in by themselves. I had to be dragged in no exaggeration. I think it's great to let ppl know what it feels like and that theyre not alone. I felt a bit of that today whilst watching this video. And I too document it down through art

Thank you for sharing this Courtney, and to your patrons who were happy for you to do that, that's awesome and generous!
I adore your style, I also don't always date everything, unless it was a certain event relative to the family, I agree if it's just a brain dump it doesn't always need it! The video was amazing and I loved hearing your thoughts, but your editing and filming in this also spot on! So well done and inspiring ❤

Glad you enjoyed it, it was such a different video for me to film and edit, but I have grown to love the series so dearly. Its something I haven't seen on youtube at all, so I thought it would be a great thing to share with more than just the inkies, luckily they agreed.

I'm so inspired by your videos and really appreciate them a lot. I'm starting to collect things for collage and have accumulated some simple art supplies. I'm curious what you use for storage and organization of these items which vary in size and volume, something that makes clean up easy and is portable for when you just wanna do it on your coffee table at night? I've seen your "what's in my pencil case" and "what's in my bag" video.. have you shown this kind of set up in another video?

My whole life has been spent sitting cross legged on the floor. Chairs do not agree with me. I have a beautiful chair and a very large table to work on, but I can’t seem to “become an adult”. I am 57 and for some reason I love the ground, it just seems to be where I belong. People always ask me how can you sit like that for so long, and I wonder how they can sit with their legs dangling from a chair, lol. Love your work.

Hello Courtney! Thank you for such an inspiring video; you are an amazing talent. I've had major surgery and can totally relate to pre-surgical stress. A coworker of my sister let me borrow a pre-surgical meditation CD. (Don't know if you'd be into something like that, but it was awesome!) Guided relaxation, planted good thoughts about the how the surgery would go well and that my body would heal swiftly and completely etc. Helped me tremendously! (They wheeled me into the operating room with my CD player on my tummy, and my headset on.) Can't find it now, else I'd give you the title. Maybe if you googled pre-surgical meditation audios, you'd find something you'd like. Good luck to you; sending prayers for healing your way:)

How do you journal, the writing part and include it with the art work itself, and know what day the thing happened to you and what page you put it on. Does that make sense? hahaha

    • @LittleRavenInk

Because I don’t journal every day events very often I can literally open my journal where I feel like and start writing or drawing! My hobonichi is my daily journal where it’s more family based stuff
