  • MESSY TO MINIMAL MOVING EDITION! Extreme Declutter & Pack With Me To Sell Our Home! HOMESTEAD PREP
We bought a homestead! And now it's time to pack up our little starter home to sell. Come with me as I go through the "hot spots" of the house and do extreme declutters and pre-pack before we get our home on the market!
If minimalism has taught me anything it's that preparing for the future by decluttering things out NOW will save so much time and headache in the long run.

This is timely for me too. I'm beginning to judge my need for things by HOW MUCH MAINTENANCE is required to keep it. Helps me get rid of even more. One of my big challenges is to find ALL my tools. I have so many duplicates of hand tools. I have already had my 2nd home. Now I need to downsize for old age. I need a ranch like yours only smaller and less yard. I ALWAYS get something done after watching you

I stumbled upon inspiration clean/organization videos close to a year ago. I was frustrated with things falling out every time pantry door opened. Phase one, I decanted some items with containers on hand. Fast fwd, I purchased more containers this summer, more progress. Recently final 2 steps for me...another shelf and declutter bottom/floor area. Success.... I find myself leaving the door open to 'enjoy' as I walk by the pantry. Thanks for your inspiration.

Great job! I'm always shocked by how quick house moves go in the US. Here in the UK you couldn't do it before it's listed or when an offer has been accepted as it takes around 6 months on average to move. (It took me 3 months as a first time buyer and that was fast) x

I always roll my eyes over the minimalist idea of not having a food stock. I lived in an area where we had almost yearly ice storms and/or flooding and would be cut off from town for a week or more at a time AND we would not have power or running water. So I always keep an extra month of food and water on hand.

When my Mom listed her house, the realtor had her remove all attached wall shelves. She said people comment on the need to repair holes and repaint, so it’s best to go ahead and remove most of the shelves and art off the walls. She also had to remove all family photos. Her house looked weirdly bare to me but it sold really fast. Hoping your house sells fast, and you enjoy your new home! My home has no linen closet, we keep our extra sheets and towels in our bedroom closets. We don’t own many so it doesn’t take up much room.

Your Messy to Minimal series has been so inspiring! A year ago I was feeling overwhelmed in our current tiny 2/1 house and couldn't figure out why. I stumbled across one of your videos and it was so eye opening! It took me another couple weeks to actually start (I can be a perfectionist and wanted to make sure I was "doing it right"), and a year later, I have zero regrets! Thank you for the real inspiration and the encouragement that it doesn't have to be pinterest perfect! #premierefam

We are about to move, too (not voluntarily, I’m afraid. Our landlord kicks us out because they need their house back), and I am so so glad I took the inspiration from your channel to start declutter my house in the last months already. It already will be so much easier to pack, and just like you I will continue to declutter while packing. I don’t want to take a single piece into our new house that we don’t use on a regular basis…
All the best and much strength for creating the home you want in your new house! I know it can be exhausting.
Can’t wait for your next video! Best wishes from Germany!!! 🙋🏻‍♀️

HOMESTEAD WHAT ?!?!?! As if I didnt already love you enough and the joy of simplicity you bring to the table now you are adding this..... YAY!!!!! I just love everything you do!!!! It really is a blessing seeing someone so pure and genuine!!! You help me feel normal :) On another note, my biggest love and support for you comes from how you are a Christian and I see God's love shine through you and your family! Love seeing yall ! My video I would love to see is a sit down chat about being a minimalist, mom and wife as a Christian and what impact it has on your spiritually. Do you reference to the bible for discipline for your minimalistic lifestyle? Do you homeschool your children with biblical reference? I guess what I'm saying is a DAY IN THE LIFE biblical version haha :) I know it's a mess reading this! You really are a light and source of encouragement. Thank you #premierefam

I decluttered a ton over the 2 years prior to moving the last time, and I was eternally grateful for it when it came time to actually move - with the help of 4 friends, it only took 2 1/4 hours to move everything to my new place (granted, I only moved 2 blocks from where I was, but the last time I moved was only 2 blocks, too, but it took weeks to move by myself because I just had so much stuff, so it probably would have taken at least a few days even with help), and even while packing up, I was still separating things out to pack up as donations (the thrift stores near me weren't taking donations at the time, but the ones near my parents were, so those things went with me when I visited my parents that Christmas), so when I had moved in, there was a nice big pile next to the front door of donations for about 3 months. Every time I send more bags/boxes of donations back with/to my parents', I get a high - every time I send more back (and clear out my "stuff to declutter" drawer and shelf (hidden away, since I'm a cricket), I know that when I have to move next, it'll be even easier/faster than the last time.

You've definitely inspired me and given me encouragement to declutter my home. The freedom of having less items to take care of and not worry about is such a relief. So thank you Natalie 😘

#premierefam I love your videos on simplifying, homeschool, practical life type stuff! I came here 3 years ago with your pregnancy videos with Hailey and now I’m also rewatching them during my current pregnancy (with a little girl). Your videos helped me so much in nursing school too as an escape. We also have a small house so I watch all the time while I declutter!

📦 I love how real you keep things! Our kids are 6, 3 and twin 15 month olds, we've been in our house for ten years and just really started decluttering in the last year. We're praying to hopefully move in the next year so this video is inspiration gold! Thank you!

How cool that all your previous decluttering brought you to this moment where you can move without all the overwhelm and now you have so many tools and practice to make this process easier

Natalie, love all your videos! You are so unbelievably organised 😍 Would love to see an organisation video on how you plan your work/family life etc. How you make lists, organise your day/week/month, organise your time and so on. Much love and thanks for the inspiration.

We kind of consider ourselves pretty minimal as well. We bought our forever home in April, the house is about HALF the size of our previous home. So we obviously had to get rid of a lot of things/furniture. We did part with a LOT of stuff.. but when we moved to the new house.. we ended up getting rid of even MORE. It’s crazy! Lol

I always love your messy to minimal videos! I discovered you when you posted your very first video in that series and it was a big part of how I stayed connected to the world while I was recovering from my second c-section with a newborn and one year old and my husband deployed. You have brought me so much joy. Thank you.

My favourite videos that you've made are the Messy to Minimal or decluttering videos. I even watch your kid ones, even though I don't have kids!
Congratulations on 300k and the new house! I'm really looking forward to seeing how you've set up in your new home and the renovations! ❤ #premierefam

📦I need to declutter my closet. I decluttered my makeup last weekend and it’s so nice! I’ve realized that my mental health has a lot to do with the environment I am in. When it’s clean I feel better and are able to study! Can’t wait to declutter!

Natalie!, I made my own tomato soup using 2 cans of dice green and red tomatoes. It was so good. I don’t think I can eat Campbell tomato soup again.

I love to watch the declutter and organizing videos, specially the ones around the house. Like this one is. And I would like to see the continuation on the new house, how you are going to organize, because I'm moving too, so I need the inspiration 😁 #premierefam 🥰 wish you all the luck and happiness in the new home 💖

I really need to get motivated decluttering because I am having a relapse 😂, thanks for talking while decluttering because I can’t just sit and do nothing all i need is to listen and if you are showing something then that’s the only time i have to see in between.

Neat, neat! Those shelves over the doors. I have books over the den doors.
Didn't think about other storage. Only I would cover the bins, ect. (I did for my larger pots, cake carriers, and equipment that is on open shelves. Kept dust off.)

I moved 1-2x a year pretty much my entire childhood so when I'm decluttering and trying to decide if I want to keep something I always ask myself "If I was moving today, would this be worth packing and carrying out to the moving truck?" Even all these years later that question still does the trick.

📦🎁🤗 I’m in the middle of Reno/moving in! My sweet hubby is a one man handyman so it’s a slow process but cannot wait to unpack my goodies! Someone said it will feel like Christmas when you unpack…little did they know I used Christmas wrapping paper to wrap last minute items! 🤣 So if you need a tip use what you have to wrap stuff in ie. towels, old wrapping paper, hand towels, blankets, sheets, etc… use waste cans and hampers and laundry baskets to haul stuff in to save on boxes.
