- This is Race 4, from the Starlight Express 2nd US Tour, 2004. The film portion of the race was directed by Julian Napier and also used in the 1st and 2nd UK tours as well as the New Zealand Arena Tour. The double/blurry image in the film that you see here is because the films were presented in stereoscopic 3-D, designed to be viewed with polarized 3D glasses which caused the images to push out beyond the confines of the flat screen and into the audiences faces.
She did cry for Rusty to help and he bravely comes to her rescue!

But, u know what, I just love that you can always find bits and pieces in ALW's music, linked to other songs/musicals of him.
Plus, Control and the Marshals are just sitting around doing nothing to stop the fight. What's more, the Caboose is supposed to be the reason Greaseball and Electra fight.
I cannot believe I never noticed Rusty actually knocked out Greaseball & Electra in the tunnel
He must’ve been really mad at them for getting Pearl hurt and I can’t blame him.
So Happy that you have these on here =D i absolutely adore the show, and have seen every variation of it since i was a kid, im pretty sure im now a good 100 or so of the views on this vid as i can happily sit and watch all the races back to back many times a day and never get bored of it! The touring productions are for the most part confined to the stage proper and do not extend throughout the theater as they did in London, Germany, and in Las Vegas. To try to recreate the in-your-face excitement of the races, these productions used filmed sequences. The 2004 US tour and subsequent UK tours used 3-D to try to heighten the effect.
That's a clever way to compensate for the restrictions using pre-recorded cinematic sequences.

I’m fairly certain they got him out after the race he crashed. Unless he’s in this footage and I can’t see him because it’s really blurry
What the heck are Greaseball and Electra doing?!?!? They're idiotically fighting near a hazardess area in a tunnel and not racing each other. Where's the thrill of the chase? I prefer the original version of the final better.

Does anyone have the prerecorded races in higher quality?
If the Starlight Express gets rebooted again, I’d like for the final race to be something like this. (With dialogue from the racers, that is. It made it easier for me to make sense of what was going on and really drew me into the action.)

I noticed that they've been deleting videos left and right including "Dinah's Disco" the German version of the song that precedes this race. :( What is a Starlight Express Fan to do?

It looks like Cb was the one who disconnected Pearl, was he trying to get her to crash somehow? Or was he trying to protect her from the hazards and GB and Electra fighting? Also another thing that is odd is that CB is usually the one who causes GB and Electra to crash (albeit with him accidentally getting caught in the crossfire) but in this he’s trying to stop the two from fighting
CB tried to get Pearl killed, because he was being a chaotic piece of work, as usual. But, him trying to break up the fight is pretty odd. Maybe he just wanted to get out of the tunnel, before they blew it up?
What exactly is going on in the tunnel? What is the hazard, it's too blurry to see. Do the engines knock CB down?
I think cb tries to stop greaseball and electra from fighting before Rusty passes through and knocks them all down with his arms because he’s tired of their bullshit, at first I thought he just knocked down the other engines but it looks like cb went down aswell
Edit: also the sign appears to be a warning of possible hazards of parts of the tunnel collapsing, or an electricity warning

Smaller venues where the rails didn’t go out into the audience like Germany so it’s an idea to still bring the show to the audience using 3D Film
