You picked a wild issue to jump into Savage Dragon. Probably not the one I'd recommend for a lapsed reader. Coincidentally, I recently started doing a series on my UA-cam channel, rereading every issue of Savage Dragon and it's been a lot of fun. It's incredible that Larsen has managed to produce this series for so long writing and drawing every issue for over 30 years. There's no other comics like it, especially the continuity, which has moved in real time since 1992.
Hey Nick. CBCAwards? You got my vote. As far as comic reads. Been buying more books than usual. Conan The Barbarian was a great read. My pick for comic of the week. In no particular order. I also picked up Gunslinger Spawn, The Scorched, Batman, Absolute Power and Scarlett. As far as Scarlett. The second issue didn’t do much for me. I will give it another issue before deciding to drop it or not. Maybe start picking up Ghost Machine titles.

Just my two bits, but, these are some of the best indie books to come along in a long long time and sorely needed in the comic industry right now. I haven't read this issue yet, but in Savage Dragon quick overview: Malcolm & his wife Maxine just moved to SF. Steamboat Willie is infatuated with Malcolm's wife, meanwhile.. Angel is one of Malcolm's old teammates from when they were in Chicago and is married to Malcolm's best friend Frank. The other current plot line involves Frank being "body swapped" with a villain from another dimension named Mr. Glum. So Frank is stuck in another dimension in Mr. Glum's body with baby Angel while Mr. Glum is having his way with Angel in Frank's body. Hope that helps!
Space ghost would be my pick of the week. Liking how the story is going and the writing and art has been on point. I was so excited to give savage dragon a try after hearing how crazy it is and one of the lcs i usually don't go too told me they couldn't sell it to me because it comes out 'next week' and, "where did i find this". Was really disappointed don't think i will be going back to that store.
