I'm Christian and I'm not part of the eastern Orthodox Church but i am an Orthodox Christian and i love Armenia and all my brothers and sisters in Christ there and pray that the Christian people would lift them up in prayer. They are severely persecuted. I pray serj may see that God entered humanity to save us from false worship of the creation and to draw us close to him and away from the things that separate us from him. I can understand his view point and he is in my prayers.

I'm happy to see that we can have an intelligent conversation about religion, which is so rare in the entertainment industry.
serj is the goat, ive beeen listening to all their albums on repeat for the last month - their lyrics seem so goofy but SOAD was a one of one band - i never really heard his solo stuff , but I was 16 when I first started listening to them and I thought their lyrics were just goofy and funny. Now that I'm much older I can appreciate their intelligence and their courage to speak out for what was right.
SOAD, Eminem, and George Carlin are the 3 artists (comedy is an art too) who masterfully used rhetoric to get their point across, and on the mt rushmore of my entertainment diet. I don't even know who to slot in 4th because no one even compares to these 3 as far as applying their intellect and creativity into their art ... inspirational figures all of em

You should hear some of Serjs solo work, it ranges from his metal side to more modern fun sounding music, but it’s really good some of the songs he puts together are really beautiful, I listen to more Serj than soad, he’s really talented

he's a plant 🌵
He doesn't seem to have a specific set religion but generally identifies with universality/indigenous spirituality and a belief in a singular Creator so he certainly isn't atheist but isn't exactly Christian either. He has a monotheistic/nature based belief in general.

We are all created by god, but were separated due to our nature to stray to other entities for instant results and our sinful nature such as jealousy, greed and so on. This is why many cultures tried to turn to Creation to make sense of things.. not to mention there were spiritual forces masquerading as gods and “ancestors” that were worshipped.
The New Covenant was to save the Remnant meaning we are all God’s people. Jesus came thru the chosen people (David of The Israelis) however even the Jews denied the messiah promised in Isaiah 53.

His Armenian people were definitively Christian and he acknowledges that it was what kept them who they were as well as one of the main reasons they were being persecuted but he himself mostly isn't a devout Christian.
