Amanda, BK Amputee - First Steps on Prosthetic Leg

Amanda was working as a humanitarian aid worker in 2008 in South America when she returned to the U.S. for Christmas. While home she was hit by a drunk driver while crossing a street, and Amanda's life changed forever. She pushed her rehab as far as she could, even participating in Spartan races. Ten years later, it was time to give up on her painful right lower leg, and she underwent an amputation in January 2019. Recently, Amanda took her first steps on a prosthetic leg, determined to push past the nerve pain and other issues that still linger from the 2008 accident. The following video shows her first steps, and is followed by an ESPN interview of Amanda at a Spartan race. After she masters the walking leg, we're moving on to a running blade!
