I was really taking in the sight and feeling the holiday vibe till the firefighter / safety geek in my brain spotted the extension cord from the barn across the street, going over the phone wires, wrapped around the metal street sign, and into the manger. I said to myself, God bless Tiny Tim the town electrician, who has probably been doing that for at least 40 years with the same worn-out cord. Santa needs to get him a new cord and a visit from the building inspector! Everyone have a safe holiday out there.

I really like the verse in John 1:14 what it says and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory the glory as of the only begotten of the father full of grace and truth. God became man to save us, from our sins. I like what Paul Harvey did many years ago and told the story of The birds, illustrating what God did for mankind. Have a blessed Christmas, brother.
I live in NJ..... Barnet/W. Barnet was the birthplace of Agnes M. Gilkerson Smith. In 1865 she married another VT industrialist and moved to NJ... Bought a failing textile mill, renamed it Smithville, and set about to design, cast, and manufacture industrial woodworking machinery. Her husband, HB Smith ALSO had a wife and family in Woodstock, VT. This news leaked just as he ran for congress..... But he still won! I suppose 1870s politics was just as squirrelly as 2022 politics???? Smith's VT son went on to own a +1000 acre ranch in Pomfret, named it Cloudland. The son had moved to NJ to learn machine tool work with his father, but was exhilied by the old man. The son, Elton, moved to Charleston, SC and became a wealthy shipping and transport magnate. He returned to NJ in 1890 to claim his deceased father's empire, and eventually won a long court battle to become owner of the HB Smith Woodworking company. Agnes (remember Agnes??) Gilkerson was a Doctor and sold potions and therapeutics. At her death in 1881, her diary was given to her sister Clara Gilkerson, also from Barnet, but living in the Smithville, NJ village. There is a search to find that journal, hoping it will be recovered and shed some light on the many mysteries of this couple's life and travels.

Vermont is beautiful Ken! The wise men met with Jesus w/Mary and Joseph before he was 2 as once King Herod heard Jesus was King of the Jews he sent out a decree to kill all male babies under this age. Joseph and Mary had to flee w/ baby Jesus to Egypt also fulfilling another prophecy once safe and could return to Israel hosea 11:1 “out of Egypt I called my son” Merry Christmas 🎄
