Personally i would prime that with oxide primer prior to the hamerite,I dont think hamerite self undercoats well.

New Hammerite no, its like piss compared to the old stuff. User friendly chemicals now.

I decent professional painter and decorator uses various tools for various jobs, it's whater the individual preferred and as you can see he did a good job mabe your a bit of a green eyed monster
