He didnt show anything. The video description was, “replacing tar and gravel roof with Sean”. He just walked on it and talked about it. Nothing was replaced nor explained. Such a waste of time watching his dumbass.
*My best roofs are all Tar&Gravel.* They knew what they were doing 100 years ago, and basic maintenance will make a Tar&Gravel roof last longer than the house it covers. NOTHING manmade will outlast Tar&Gravel. #CheapEffective
I have a 20 yr old Tar and gravel roof, so far a few cracks on the outer edges but no leaks, it was redone before I brought it 20 yrs ago, so it has tar on tar I assume, you say maintenance on the roof, please explain maintenance
@@matt7iron Once a year I walk my roof looking for any spots not covered by gravel. The gravel is there to block the sun's UV rays. The sun destroys everything except chlorophyl. Even the gravel, given enough time, will be destroyed by the sun's rays. *So the maintenance is making sure birds, wind, whatever have not moved the gravel off of the substrata waterproofing tar. As long as the sun does not shine on the tar, the tar will never crack. Thus a properly maintained gravel/tar roof will outlast the building it covers.*
Great video! You showed me exactly what I wanted to see. My roof is similar to that only not as bad. Your video really helped. Thanks.
