It is not a story of betrayal, of selfishness, of human stupidity, but it is a story of total and selfless love, of respect, of courage, of resilience. Shows the most beautiful sides of the human being. He literally made me cry! A great man who met a great wife and a great family. The daughter's speech during the graduation ceremony was touching. A recognition due to a great man. I hope that more similar stories will be published in the future.
I'm so glad not all these stories are about cheating wives. But some, like this one, hit home. I also have two fathers, one that I never met, and one that gave me his name. The fathers that turn their backs on the children they procreate affect our lives whether they like it or not. As a single father who raised his daughter with the help of my parents after her mother left us both to seek more financial stability with someone else I can't understand abandoning a child whether it's the mother or father who is the one abandoning the child.
Yeah, having a cheating wife not only get away with her cheating, but leave him with all the bills leaving him nearly penny less for next 10 years will do that. Tends to deaden the heart a little. And what single woman will hitch her life to a guy who is too broke to even take her out to McDonald’s? 😅 Yeah sometimes we win and some times we loose big. Just a risk of opening your heart and trusting someone. Only comfort is knowing that this world is a peace of mercy for the wicked. It’s is there one and only chance at happiness and fulfilling their every evil desires because they will spend the rest of eternity in the lake of fire and brimstone where God says, “the smoke of their torment will rise forever and ever. So no I don’t get hardly any feels from this, but I will NOT do evil to others because unlike my ex wife, I will not cheat on my Jesus. I will not do him the same as others have done me.
Am I alone to have used half a box of tissues? This story makes me sob sometimes pretty loudly from half to the end. I will tell you that most of the men would like to experience the full white knight drama /w that kind of rewarding of saving & giving a future to someone, not only deserving it, but making it worth it.
This one hits really hard..reminds me of the one I lost 2 years ago..I envy Lucia though, bcz at least they got married before she lost his man. I, on the other hand was working thousands of miles away when he passed away, I was not even able to attend his funeral😢
This story would make a statue cry. It's funny how a story so sad can be so entertaining. I new how it was going to end .but just had to stick with it though the lump in my throat and the tears rolling down my face. . Would have been nice for a happy ending. But we all know life is not like that. Great well written story. Thanks.
I really enjoyed this story very touching. The only thing I wished that had happened is the wife get pregnant and that carry with the guys child it would carry on his destiny although he did in other ways (which was sweet), I think it would have been the best possible result tho.

And if we sit to think without shallowness, this story has a happy ending. To think that Todd could die alone and forgotten by the world in a hospital bed, and Lucia would still have the same tormented life. Instead, the end of Todd's life was flooded with love, and the life of Lucia and her family changed radically for the better. So, the ending was a happy one. Sad, but happy!
