I love when shows have location shots; I'm a real city architecture person and love glimpses of streets and buildings in days gone by, even if it's just a quick shot.
🤗Mamie Van Doren Performed Every Role So Well 🤗 So Enjoyable To Watch Her Fulfill Her Roles Regardless Of The Stigma That Was Placed On Her . Her Films Are Treasures 💎🏆💎 👍🏼 Thank You ' jeffsabu ' For Sharing This Piece Of Her Acting Career 👍🏼
WISH THIS HAD BEEN A SERIES LOVE SHOWS ABOUT FASHION DEPARTMENTS STORES , GIRLS LIVING WORKING IN THE CITY, MUCH BETTER THEN THREES COMPANY THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING
John Bryant who played Mr Evans was the first Marlboro Man, and appeared on the back cover of Life magazine in either 1960 or 1961. He did a lot of other ads and commercials, and also recorded books for the blind.
Originally produced in 1956, and telecast on "ALCOA/GOODYEAR THEATER" as "Girls About Town" on April 20, 1959 (later syndicated as part of Screen Gems' "AWARD THEATER" package of the 1958-'60 "ALCOA/GOODYEAR" episodes, and other unsold pilots). On August 30, 1960, the pilot was repeated again on CBS' "THE COMEDY SPOT" {an anthology of "busted" pilots, scheduled as Red Skelton's summer replacement) as "Meet the Girls". In syndication, the title used on the CBS repeat was substituted for the original version.
Okay, out of six failed pilot shows I've binged through this morning, this is the only one that's deserved a series. The furs are ugly and inhumane by modern standards, but this was an alien time compared to 2023.

too bad the copyright of one of her 3d shorts Hawaiian Nights she di in 1954 is too expensive to pay.

This pilot for sure would be accepted in to at least 5 season run in 2024!😊 1960s Pilot was way ahead of its time!
This would of been a great sitcom
Soooooooo many great actress and actors back in the day
Interesting casting Mamie as the naive country girl, so against type--she plays it well, and looks fabulous of course.
I can see why this never sold!

This is GREAT! Maime was shafted in her on screen career I.M.O.! We should've seen a lot more of her!
You are right she not given a chance
I agree!
Me too!
#choean...
Shr showed as much as the law allowed.

What was the cast and crew of this episode
Mamie is incredible 🩷
yikes ! Mamie : "I have a nice figure too , see?"
Bully Boss predator : "your moving in with us "
Unsold pilot no wonder i never heard of it

mamie is great
Gail Robbins was the real beauty here. She was gorgeous.
Mamie Van Doren is so underrated
It was worth watching just for the girls. 😃
Great quick sight gag: "I need a mink coat like I need a toupee on my foot." And Mamie looks at her foot!
Always that unconvincing canned laughter.
Do you have something with Noreen Nash or Gigi Perreau??? Tv shows
Very funny! Lol. Reminds me of myself!!!!
Virginia Field and Gale Robbins are only three difference in age!
1960? It looks like 1955.
50s fashion was still in style in 1960
This sure smells of how to marry a millionaire with maime playing the Barbra Eden role and then later on 3 girls.
Original working title: "mature women on the town"
Mamie Van Doren is the young blonde.
Wow even Mamies' buttock movements at 6:35 get a laugh from the audience.
That didn't stink...
Eve Arden would have been perfect for the 'Jo' role.
Lame pilot. The whole Dumb Blonde thing never appealed to me.
Brigitte bardot later on will after fur, good for BB ,is tasteless
