yup i noticed nga depleting na talaga ang number of participants ng dinagyang! Im not sure why cguro marami nang ayaw sumali well i still hope dinagyang tradition will continue even if fewer tribes joining every year.
FestivalQueen01 tumatanda na kasi ang mga nag jojoin at yung iba may trabaho na. Dinagyang tradition of course will continue because Dimagyang is an innovative festival
wag tayong magsalita ng tapos... let's just watch the dinagyang 2010... pangit yung magkompyansa baka mauwi lang sa dissapointment... i love dinagyang and also all the tribe... because of their effort the dinagyang 2010 will be made possible and successful. Natural Lang na ya nga may arguement between the competing tribe remember 1990's BOLA-BOLA VS BINIRAYAN, Late 1990's to early 2000's Bola-BOLA VS TRIBU LUNOK (SILAK) epic battle between the two, 2007-2008 TRIBU PAGHIDAET VS TRIBU ILONGANON 2009- till present BOLA-BOLA VS PAGHIDAET. but overall all of this tribes are good and I watch all of them and salute them all they make dinagyang special. THAT's why GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS TO ALL THE TRIBES AND TO ALL ILLONGGO.
So your trying to say that those people behind those festival are stupid??? if they are what you think they can't create such beautiful dances... i myself was once a dancer of dinagyang but proud to say that I am now successful in my own rights. Actually other dancers doesn't have a choice because it is forced in their school that they should join such competitions. Just be proud of your fellows Filipinos merry making in the streets and just do what you think is right for you...

what saddens me is when the "essence" of the festival is not clear, nothing will come sincere for dinagyang festival. the main objective id to adore sto. niño, but the steps are all modern. pag wala props, patay ang dinagyang. sinulog has sincerity in the sense that ang dance steps nila is taken from the prayer dance called "sinulog". kelangan pa ng mas matatalinong utak to conceptualize dinagyang!

Dahil Street party type ang dinagyang everybody can come and join the their favorite tribe.. Street Party PEACE!
