Dark Alliance - Absolutely Terrible (but fun)

- Dungeons and Dragons Dark Alliance is not a well polished game. The AI, the level design, the combat, and so much more is created in such a way that I cannot actually tell what is a glitch, and what is intended.
The game has a spark of personality, and bit of fun with certain builds but I cant in good conscience recommend the title to anyone as a 40 dollar purchase. No microtransactions is good, but it cant compensate for a broken gameplay loop.

Ya know, after 8 negative reviews and only 1 sorta positive one....I'm kinda thinking maybe this game is just not very good.
To be complete honest my mates, I think is time for us to reach out to that fabled place known as "the outside", I'm buying a bicycle. It is incredible that I can't remember the last game that came out and was good, what the hell has happened.

The archery animation I made in a couple hours on Dreams looks better.. this game looks e/a or placeholder
As a massive fan of the original Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance games back on the PS2 and a massive D&D fan in general, this is disappointing. Expected since pretty much every single AAA developer has gone down the shitter in terms of quality in the past 10 years, but still disappointing nevertheless.
Look at the archers animation while he readies an arrow. Besides his arms the rest of his body does not move. That has to be some of the worst animation or lack there of that I’ve seen. Like Fable had more depth to its animation than this game. And that was 17 years ago! How is something like this even released?!
The conspiracy theorist in me is starting to think this game is badly made on purpose so companies can point to it and say that games without MTX don't do well
honestly, this looks more like a mobile game than an actual game.
They're most likely going to nerf the archer instead of buffing the other classes
The archer moves like a mannequin. 😁 Her arms are moving to pull the bowstring back but her torso remains absolutely rigid. It looks really "uncanny valley" ish. Now I can't unsee it. XD
So archer with focus on crit chance is OP and enemies are braindead sponges.

I started it up, saw the character models, and instantly felt like I was playing a game made in 6 months with a free software engine.
As a vet DND player, this game doesn't interest me. Id also like to point out the archers REALLY bad shooting animation.

Awesome job, Dark Alliance.
The archer is Cattie Brie, and that bow is called Taulmaril. I'd always pictured it longer than the one in the video, it looks like a shortbow. Also, they got Wulfgar's hammer wrong. Ageis Fang is a one handed hammer that he throws like Thor. Instead of coming back, it magically reappears in his hand. Furthermore, they could've added a fifth character, Regis the halfling. He is part of their group, ans he has a magical pendant that charms people. His mele weapon is a small mace. Maybe they'll add him as DLC, but he's arguably stealthier than Drizzt (who is not a rogue, he's a ranger).
I think they were relying a LOT on people wanting to play their favorite Hero's from the books. I mean, being able to play Drizzt? I'd love to, but it's the same pitfall that Avengers was.
