At 5:30 an interesting story; That black sculpture depicting a vegetable and fish market scene was commssioned by the local pharma company Sandoz as a gift to the city of Basel . Shortly after, Sandoz had a major chemical accident that dumped poisons into the Rhein river, killing all of the fish . The city of Basel government was so disgusted they moved the sculpture to this obscure corner and painted it black!
Great video. Profound knowledge of the city. Great! Thank you! some spelling mistakes with the subtitles. But who cares. Gault et Millau is not everyones business. Congratulations! Locations, history and background informations are great and correct, Greetings from Basel. Hope you come back. There is a lot more to tell you.
Oh aren’t you the sweetest thank you so much ☺️ was such a pleasure to read! It is one of my earliest videos, I got better since then, check out my top 10 cities in Switzerland 🇨🇭 if you are interested 😉 I might visit Basel again this Spring. I love the place!
This seems to be such a charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
Can't aggree with "sin city"...I was born and grew up in Basel, and in my opinion, this is a very well documented presentation of my town - respect - little correction I found ...it's not called "Baslerdytsch"...in fact it's "Baseldytsch", but never mind... Thank you for your very kind presentation of my city I love so much!
Thank you so much 😊 I’m happy you like them, really am! I’m using iPhone 12 Pro Max and I edit the footage afterwards but that is it, are you also making videos? Greetings from St Gallen Switzerland 🇨🇭
The Roger Federer tram is running already. For years to come. Don‘t worry. Yes, he was born here and brought up in Riehen. His junior tennis court is here. Then he moved abroad. 5 miles away to the canton of Basel Land. :-)
@@Baselfreak Wow! Thank you so much for the sharing. Much appreciated. Was planning to come in March but the after considering the super cold weather which may not suit us better we are now planning to come in August so that we can have a great weather and longer hours to enjoy this heaven on earth. Been there in June 2019 and took full route of Glacier Express from Zermat to St Moritz, Bernina Express from St Moritz to Tirano and 2 Golden Pass Line(Luzern-Interlaken) and Interlaken to Montreux). Yet we have missed out on the chocolate train. So this time we are taking the chocolate train and also the amazing Roger Federer tram. Always super excited about Switzerland and the most stylish, elegant and greatest of all time Roger Federer. We (me and my whole family) don’t miss even one of his matches. As how great movies and series made the whole family to sit and watch together in good all days, Roger Federer has brought that to my family in today’s world. Switzerland and Roger Federer are just too beautiful and incomparable!

09:27 I hardly dare criticizing your video, maybe there's an L too many (Marktplatz)? Other than that - this is freaking perfect.
😂 sorry about that, but happy you liked it!!! Thank you so much ☺️
Deutscher Sprache schwieriger Sprache 😂 I always misspell in German, still learning…
The birthplace of the great Roger Federer. May I know what month is this? Planning to take the Roger Federer tram soon.
Sorry I have no idea what do you mean? It’s January now 😂
@@ATWKate Everyone knows it is January 2023 now. I was asking about the month when the video was taken.
