Many think the RCMP have something to do with it because they actually petitioned to have a bunch of evidence destroyed.

Two hundred dollars was a lot of money and to be a convicted thief of an employer’s money no less would follow a man to his grave making employment almost impossible let alone getting the bank loan to start a business. The public shame alone was crushing. He certainly martyred himself and put his family through it, but for reasons that to him were valid. I am glad his family showed compassion something we can all do better at. They knew his heart. What a relief it must’ve been to carry that secret for so many years in fear and after his painful absence he found redemption and forgiveness. He was “cleansed of his sins” and embraced by those he cared so deeply for and tried to ( as misguided as it was) protect. What an incredible story. Thank you 🙂✌🏻
I most definitely do NOT feel bad for this guy. For one, he was a coward that abandoned his whole family and allowed them to go through hell thinking something awful happened to him and secondly, I don’t even believe the story about the false accusation of $200. That’s insane. I don’t think he is being honest and he is perfectly capable of lying about that if he is able to lie about his whole identity to his family for decades. If I were his wife, I would have never talked to him again.
