Tire model still needs flat spots. There's still a sad lack of classic 1960's sports cars, like the Mini Cooper S, Healy 3000, Ferrari 275 GTB, Jaguar E-Type, Lotus Cortina, etc.
One things with tires is that we don't really experience flat spots. I wonder if that's a thing they will add eventually, they didn't mention it (or I missed it) and I think if it was coming they would announce it because it's quite a big thing.
@@laplimitpush Yeah, it's harsh. But personally I want the simulation to be as close to reality as possible. Obviously it will never be there 100%, but anything that brings us closer is welcome for me, even if it makes it harder.

I hope iRacing model the 499P's powertrain properly and don't just slap and LMDh powertrain on it. The 499P is built to the Le Mans Hypercar rules which have the hybrid only kicking in at high speed as an additional speed boost. But the LMDh rules that all the current IMSA GTP competitors are built to has the hybrid work throughout the full acceleration range.
I really really hope iRacing does this properly whether it incorporates the Virtual Energy system that LMU has or not. I would be worried if this is just a 499p skin on their LMDh modeling cause their LMDh hybrid modeling isn't how the hybrid works in the actual car already
uh? hybrid on lmh/lmdh is not an speed boost to be used at high speed, is a fuel saving feature and can be used at any speed you want (so you use electric power to consume less fuel)
@@txalin I'm simplifying a bit by saying speed boost, not everyone has the same knowlage level. But it does only engage above a certain speed which is governed by the BOP set by the ACO and FIA. I'm looking to capitalize on the black friday deal and get the 1 year membership. What are some of the things the community can tell me about the game that should encourage/deter me from iRacing
I think the 1 year deal on Black Friday is a good deal. That's how I got in a year ago and I wil happily renew my subscription soon. iRacing is quite unique. It's the king when it comes to the online multiplayer experience, so if that's what you're looking for, there is no better. I love the whole licence system, it gives you a really good sense of progression. And there are many, many series full of people to race against. Be it oval, endurance, open wheelers, you can find something for yourself. Just be aware that once you get out of Rookies you will have to spend some more money on cars and tracks. You can plan around it and spend on tracks and cars that get used in a lot of series first to get the best bang for your buck. Overall I've raced AC, ACC, AMS2, rFactor 2 and while some of these sims feel better than iRacing, none of them made me stick around for long because of the lack of a developed online system. To be fair there is a third party platform called LFM for AC, ACC and soon AMS2, but while it's fun, it's still nowhere near the iRacing community. One good thing about iRacing is that you're paying for a service that is always improving, proved by the video itself describing an amazing future update. So yeah, if you can put up with paying for the service periodically and paying for new cars and track every so often, I think iRacing provides one of the best experiences simracing has to offer as of right now. Is there some BS to put up with? Of course, no product is perfect, but I think it's still worth it.
