    Jay, it was very nice for you and Sam to take some time to discuss with my 2 boys, Louis (7) and Felix (5), while your mind was probably into the tournament. I really appreciate you did this. Even your gentle soft spoken approach couldn't get Louis and Felix to interact. I have never seen them as startstruck, they were literally hiding under the seats of the boat!
    They have been following your videos avidly, and you are one of their favorite fishing vlogger. You have been a major influence on them and they often quote your tips while we are out fishing (like, leeches can be hooked from either end).
    I am not an outdoors-man and I certainly did not initially brought up my kids to be outdoors-kids either. However thanks to your adventures we have become aware of how lucky we are to be on Lake of the Woods, and the endless fishing possibilities that are offered to us. You have somehow showed us the way and we spend most of our summer week-ends on the lake fishing now.
    And this week-end Louis caught his first Smallmouth bass master angler. All of this would have never happened without people willing to share their passion.
    Thank you Jay, best wishes of success for your current and future endeavors.

      Well, over here in Germany, there is a Little Boy called Luis (9). He is into fishing since he was 4 or 5. And guess what? He likes Jay's (and Mr. Wiebe's…) vids too, sadly enough we don't have the fishing opportunities as you canadians. We are happy with a carp or some small pike. But he is going for it coz he see People around the world fish and he is influenced by them, like your Boys. So be happy about your rivers, lakes and streams and use them wisely and carefully and show Kids what treasures these are!!! Keep up fishin' and greets to Louis and Felix!!!!

    800 reef runners are a good bait as long as you keep them tuned. Deep water Bandits also great bait for that depth. Try putting a piece of night crawler top of the back hook. Doesn't affect the action. Works great on Erie. Nice video.

    Something I've always wondered while watching your videos: How does the use of the metric system factor into how you measure fish? You always measure your fish in inches. Do you guys just use inches so we all speak the same language in terms of fish?

    • @JShera
      @JShera 5 років тому

      Robert Curtin Canada uses the metric system. Hence Km/h and fishing regulations using cm.
