Its such a Breath Of Fresh bowling air to see you guys have genuine fun while still being super competitive! This was a great video. Keep up the 1v1 videos!!! #GoofyFootedNext???
Brad & Kyle, that was fun to watch. Keep working at it!!! I turn 66 in less than a week. I switched to 2 handed, no thumb about a year ago (my friends say I am crazy as i have averaged as high as 224 1-handed, mostly in the high 2-teens with ball speed around 17.8 mph only bowling once a week). Its now all about getting my speed up. When i started 2-handed it was around 13 mph. Finally got it over 16 mph (some over 17.5) with a high series of 780 (during practice, so take that with a frain of salt). I still throw a gutter ball or 2 each set (had a 682 with 4 gutter balls in only my 8th league series 2-handed, the gutter-7 in between a 3 and 5 bagger cost me 39 pins - ouch. As my speed increases, I have found I don't have to play outside 4 board, plus Vice's polish that can bring my ball up to 8000 grit (old hammer scandal). Still under 200 average, but i will get there as i have not been making my spares. Brad - rest that ball on your forearm until you release it, it will rev more and not roll out like a few of yours did in this challenge session. Kyle, i think you would crush it as a 2-hander. Shoot right side spares 1-handed!!! Looking forward to seeing your first 200 game!!!
You two are the best. Every time I watch one of your videos, I...1) learn something new, 2) find a way to improve my game, and 3) am thoroughly entertained. Thanks for all you do.
this is fun to watch. keep making 2 handed content! i like it because im starting to learn 2 handed and your questions are the same stuff im going through 😂
I switched to 2h this year after 2 years of 1h. I'm already at my old avg and shot a 226 in league yesterday. Hardest part is keeping ball speed up so I dont leave splits on the fresh. Doesn't help we switched oil and now transition is way faster.
You guys are both pros with excellent forms and a very competitive game at the pro level. I could say the same about Darren Tang. He seems to be on the verge of converting to 2-handed bowling full time. He has already entered a regional bowling 2 handed. I have watched him bowl. As well as he bowls 1-handed, it really looks like he has an easier time striking as a 2-handed. The higher rev rate, the steeper entry angle you can get at the pocket, all translates to more carries. I have 2 bowlers in my bowling league who have bowled less than a year, and they started as your typical "no idea what we're doing" 130's bowlers. After one year, they are both now averaging 180-190. They still throw a lot of clueless balls, because they are still learning the basics of the oil pattern and other parts of the game. But with that huge rotation, I have watched them both throw 5 or 6 baggers fairly routinely. (remember this is on a semi-blocked house pattern) I really think that already elite bowlers like you guys, Brad and Kyle, can transition to a 2-handed style and get better. You are not old. You can adapt and adjust your game. Having a higher rev rate really has very little downside.
Brads ball reaction is a friendly reminder of why layouts matter and *can* be incredibly important. Not a few degrees here, or a half inch there, but layouts based on the players axis tilt and rotation, and bleeding or retaining them at the proper rate, for the ball to go through all 3 motions, at the right point in time on the lane.
At 12:17 seconds that was the stonedest,( if thats even a word!) 8 pin, But it was NASTY!!! Then at 13:45 stones a friggin 9 pin is just NASTY AND WILD! 😂
Im a 69 yr old 2Hander & just bowled my 1st 300 in league. I still basically use the 3 point targeting system. Aim at the top of the 10 pin reflection !!!!
Kyle when shooting the spares 2 handed Release the ball straight up the back End over end!! Curve it on 1st shot Dead straight up the back end over end on 2nd shot Let Anthony S throw the backup ball❤🎉
I've been a two hander for like 25 years, my main ball hybrid reactive is way to aggressive so I have you use the whole lane pretty much right off the bat. I just switched to a lighter pearl instead, stoked to not have to rip that thing down there as hard as I possibly can every throw, that gets tiring.
Brad, small thing I noticed. When you're releasing the ball with your hand behind the ball instead of under it. I think you just need to stay under the ball a little longer and your rev rate will go up. Also, your axis rotation is very straight.
I switched to 2 handed bowling after bowling 1 handed for 35 years... 2 months in and I bowled a 248 game.... however Im staying away from Reactive. Throwing a solid until I feel my form is ready to switch to reactive.
So, one thing to keep in mind is that you are bowling with balls that are laid out for your 1 handed PAP. Drill up a ball specifically for your two hand PAP. Two hand drilling layouts are much weaker to prevent over hook and give you more control.
Kyle: Get further back on the approach and generate ball speed with your feet. Brad: Keep your hand under the ball longer for more revs and let it roll off instead of trying to push it. If this is a fresh house shot you’re both playing way too far left especially with the Phase 2. Just drill a Storm Mix for a spare ball and use it no matter what, not doing yourselves any favors trying to throw backup balls and hooking and spares.
Take your bowling hand and hold it so your arm and palm are straight up. rotate your wrist so your pinky moves inwards, and then fold your wrist towards you. In your start position, have a little under half the weight of your ball on your forearm. Through your swing let gravity do the brunt of the work, try to have the ball feel weightless on the peak of the back swing, and keep your torso rotated more on your backswing. You should be looking over your non-dominant shoulder fully at the peak of your swing. Your left hand is your thumb, if you turn your torso back straight too quickly, you pull your "thumb" to a different spot and lose revs and accuracy on your release. Also as opposed to one handed bowling, follow through out towards 1 o'clock with your throw arm and throw your off hand off to the left as straight as you can to make sure you aren't over-rotating past neutral on the release as well. Good luck bowlers :)
Have you guys done a review on the phaze AI? I bought one last week and I'm still getting used to the way it rolls. I'd like to hear your take on that ball. Very entertaining video, as always.
I've always wondered whether practicing 2 handed a lot will hurt your 1 handed game (especially at your level), or does it open up a whole new way of looking down the lane and make you more versatile? (I think I answered my own question. Lol).
Just bowled in a state tournament with very low oil on purpose and the top bowlers were 1-handed. 2-handed bowlers had no clue on how to hit the pocket.
@@Dudeanything basically you had to use a very weak reactive or plastic. You could use stronger equipment, but you'd have to either loft, increase ball speed, or rely on Brooklyn strikes. Not a single bowling ball towel was scene in entire center LOL!
I never tried the WindMill comming around the ball on the right like a noemal right handed bowler but full WindMill so I did it for a full marothon video & had an under 140 avg it was like 138 avg. I thought I would do better then the Back up with Windmill but the problem I had is I could NOT come around the ball from the right side because a Windmill is FULL circle & you need to come out of the circle to come around the ball on the right side of the ball so the back up ball is way easier to stay in the circle with. I have my balls drilled for back up ball by Brandon Gibson that's dr hooks kid cuz Dr died back in 2017. Brandon Gibson bowled in regional's tour!
Part of your guys issue is the layout on the balls you’re using…you’re both on staff, get a NEW ball and drill a ball with a 2-handed layout with your 2 handed PAP lol
Biggest thing I see you guys struggling with is keeping the swing loose. I would focus on keep the swing loose, just like one handed bowling. Love the content! Keep it up guys!
My biggest problem with 2 handed bowling is that I go over the finger holes a lot. Apparently I can't get the right axis tilt. I keep trying though. Fun to practice it now and then.
Question for you all,. Is there more pressure on your arm/elbow bowling two handed vs one handed? I am learning to bowl left handed because of damage to my right elbow with ligaments and tendons. I ask my question because my left handed bowling sucks. I wonder if I can bowl two handed right and drop ball weight down to 14lb's. With hopes of reducing the stress on that elbow.
I wanna see how a mystery shot style bowling tourney would play like. The idea is the bowlers don't know what style they have to use per frame. The style would be announced at the beginning of every frame and will challenge the bowlers by not only taking them outside of the comfort zone but they don't get to completely control the tempo of the game. Probably take too long and be super chaotic but definitely worth a spectate.
Brad's 2 handed game is unironically not bad. I feel as if he were to keep his 1 handed footwork with his 2 handed throw it could actually be really good
Reason left hand feels weird when interlocked is because you guys are too squared to the foul line, try opening up the hips a little by rotating the right foot/leg behind the left - more linear to each other - it'll help you put less angle to the left wrist
Kyle actually throws the 2 hander really well. He has a very natural delivery and the ball rolls end over end. He should go to that. Brad....not so much. He crooks his elbow out and as a result the ball spins sideways.
Not all two-handed bowlers place their hands on the ball the same way. Take a close look at Kyle Troup, for example. The other thing about him is that he doesn't try to hook the whole lane with every shot.
The ball reaction is not going to be the same since these balls all have thumb holes in them. It's much easier to bowl two handed or palm style when you have a thumb hole in the ball.
Granted you can learn how to throw the ball straight, two handed adds a whole plethora of problems that one handers don't have to deal with yet they still run thier mouth how it's easier... bowling is NOT easy no matter how the hell you put the ball down lane..
Kyle blew in his thumb hole during his approach lmaoooo
Best Moment 😂

New drinking game - Take a drink every time Kyle claps or punches his hands.

You'd definitely die of alcohol poisoning
broooo lmaooooooo

Kyle looks good 2 handed
agreed, with a few more MPH, he's money, just needs a spare ball and he's good to go.
Brad looks hes taking out the trash lmao
That first throw was crazy. He cleaned up the motion after he warmed up tho
I switched in May of this year and I love it!!!! Best thing ever
One of the best shows, entertainment wise. Didn’t learn a whole lot, but liked seeing you guys having fun.

As coaches, learning new techniques is a +.
Still waiting on The Gear Video, boys! Finger Tape, Shoe Care, Ball care, etc!! Let’s go!
You guys are too funny that was definitely hilarious
I love this series keep it coming
Watching you guys go through what I’m going through makes me feel better about where i am.
These 2 guys were hysterical
Between you two and Darren tang the bowling UA-cam videos are awesome
"you gotta have touch" Kyle: YOU AINT GOTTA HAVE TOUCH

Awesome quote on the split.. wow, thats a low percentage shot😂😂 good fun Brad!
Its not too late to change your mind Brad! 😉🤣
13:19 😂 My thoughts exactly, almost every week. And then Kyle leaves a stone 9.
Well, that was fun to watch. Hope you guys haven't screwed up your A game.
Im liking the 2 handed videos
Mine here as 2 handers:
Long pattern - asymmetrical reactive
Short pattern - urethane
House pattern - urethane
I switched to 2 handed and so far so good. It's a learning curve.
Totally amazed how smooth Kyle's down swing is, even with two hands
Kyle when shooting the spares 2 handed Release the ball straight up the back
End over end!!
Curve it on 1st shot
Dead straight up the back end over end on 2nd shot
Let Anthony S throw the backup ball❤🎉
Hopefully you two will be in Delaware in January for the Pro-AM!
I hope so too. I'll be there, but I don't plan on bowling in the pro-am.

lol, “Did you pay Keith?” 😂
I was not paid… they both fall off the shot 2 handed. ;)
Kyle, why were you blowing into the thumb hole at 2:12 when you're bowling two-handed?
I switched to 2 handed bowling after bowling 1 handed for 35 years... 2 months in and I bowled a 248 game.... however Im staying away from Reactive. Throwing a solid until I feel my form is ready to switch to reactive.

Once you get your two handed game decently well, try and do my style- one handed no thumb. kind of a hybrid between 1 and 2 handed
2 handed is objectively better than just thumbless
Kyle: Get further back on the approach and generate ball speed with your feet.
Brad: Keep your hand under the ball longer for more revs and let it roll off instead of trying to push it.

I love it,Kyle leaves a hard 8 pin. Ball didn't do its job, then left a solid 9 pin 😅.

Do you guys put your thumbs in holes of the ball trying not doing that and you we get way more control
The ending of the match though 😆
Omg that was such an awesome video I can’t wait for round 3. Who will win? Will anyone hit 200 ?
the most buckets ever by a 2 hander is great 😂😂
Kyle has very real potential to convert to 2 handed. Impressive.

I always keep plastic in the bag for those conditions.
Im a two hander and i know how to counter completely dry lanes with no oil and can still hit the pocket perfectly its just a skill issue lol
@@stevenpommenville2563, you hit the pocket "perfectly" in every condition?
Is it still shorts weather where you are?
Darren Tang throws it really good two handed too
As a 2 handed bowler its all wrist adjustments and speed control to play on any pattern

Kyle looks like a natural 2 hander
I’m so old, I can remember when two hands were illegal. And the scores were a lot lower. If it’s not cheating, than what else can you call it?
its just a style, if you cant compete its a skill issue on your part
Definitely need to start with 11-12 pound ball
Funny how Kyle blew into his thumb hole 😂😂😂. He didn’t even notice 😅
Time to drill some 2 handed balls guys!
My biggest problem with 2 handed bowling is that I go over the finger holes a lot. Apparently I can't get the right axis tilt. I keep trying though. Fun to practice it now and then.
Yeah I do the same thing but it’s not really as important as what the ball is doing on the lane

I'm still working on my first 300 game, the closest I've gotten is a 268 game.
I think you guys can get to 200 bowling two-handed IF you (Kyle) aim, and you both use spare balls for spares.
Kyle as the better release. Brad has the better footwork. It's kinda like a speed vs. power boxer out there.
I recommend 2 handed middle because it will safe your fingers blisters
If Kyle shows up with a spare ball its over!
Brad's on the right track! Plastic and urethane are your friends.
Kyle's over here calling me out. I can't look at a mark I just gotta open up and throw out there and hope it works haha
Why not get a couple of balls drilled up for the two handed approach?
Next time you should both do back up only. I think Kyle has the edge there.
Not all two-handed bowlers place their hands on the ball the same way. Take a close look at Kyle Troup, for example. The other thing about him is that he doesn't try to hook the whole lane with every shot.
honestly brad has a good style he just needs to move right instead of trying to crank it

It's okay, Kyle's left hand owed him money.
Kyle's side profile looks like a young belmonte
