Great result Nic, I’ve never caught a snow tench.🤣 you’ve inspired me to give the lake ago, probably next weekend. I was also thinking about popped up corn tipped with maggots. Thanks for another great video. 👍
Just shows, they can be caught even when the conditions would suggest otherwise. Get out and give it a go mate. Yes, bright little popped up baits worked well. Let me know how you get on!
My go to early season baits are red maggot flavoured with either GLM or good old Maple Cream or corn flavoured with scopex. One on a maggot feeder/heli rig, the other Expo/Tanches 3000, brown crumb groundbait with CSL or Horse Feed Mollasses. I used to fish an old 25 acre estate lake, when the pike started spawning it was time for tench. I used Ewe Nuts (sheep feed pellets) spodded out, then used the other baits to top up. Always seemed to do really well. Me and my mate had a good session one evening, this time of year, woke up to a foot of snow round the bivvies. Great video as always, just shows percerference can pay off.
I use 2 hooks! Start by tying on a small size 14 hook, then using a baiting needle thread on some fake corn. Then add your main hook using a knotless knot. Then basically you can add maggots on the small hook before burying it in the corn. Hope that helps!
Thank you mate. Did you see my Tench Fishing with Floats video? Definitely will do more of this once it warms up and they move into the edge in larger numbers 😉
@@Lifeonthebank we have spoke on a few social platforms, getting back into fishing when lockdown started after 20 years, your videos have helped me and thank you mate for that, i was lucky to get a membership for kings weir for the new season and korum products are great, brought loads of korum bits, keep up the good work with the content 👍
I think I went the same day and caught a snow bream. I was totally caught out by the snow and how cold it was, so I packed up. I’m going this Friday so fingers crossed for a tinca. Great video as usual 👍
Nice Tench .Something special about early season Tench although think there taking a while to wake up this year weather is not helping ! Well thats my excuse for a blank today 🤪 great content mate pleasure to watch .👍 👍👍👍👏
Nick absolutely brilliant vlog as always buddy, persistency wins out again. And I'll be honest next time it snows I'm off tench fishing 😂 snow tench 😂. Hope you have a great week and tight lines. Best wishes and stay safe and well to you and your family buddy.
Thanks as always for watching my friend! One of those times when you’d look out the window and think it just not worth going. There’s always a chance! Look after yourself pal 😉👍
@@Lifeonthebank cheers buddy, and thankyou for the brilliant vlogs. Your channel is a firm favourite of mine, and you inspired me back to angling again.
Beautiful fish they are. Nice vid Nick. What's your best tench mate? Haven't been after them for 3 years now I think. Think, I'll have a session in this year with the float...
I’ve not had many bigger than these but I’ve now got access to a water where a double figured fish is possible ... but it’s going to be a challenge! Thanks for checking out the video mate.
Just wondering why you fish so far out? Do you know of an underwater feature out there, or is it just because that's where the bigger ones are more likely to be found on that particular water?
I hear what you’re saying. Many lakes they can be caught in the edges, here too. But in early spring it was still quite cold. I found them out in the deeper water. 👍👍
Good morning Nick, I Sawa video of you, where you used the rods of the korum Opportunist XTND 10ft. I wanted to know if you used 2.25lb or 2.75lb. Thanks for the reply.
Yes, was only a few days ago. Almost certainly the same day you describe! Such strange weather!!! I agree about naturals, always the best way to go but sometimes nuisance fish make using them very tricky. Thanks for checking out the video 👍👍👍

The majestic snow Tench 😆

Loved this one lads, snow Tench - bit special is that!
Obviously we weren’t very confident in these conditions but it goes to show! You never know! 👍👍👍
Great effort , great results
Love this channel. Thank you Bro ! Keep making these brilliant videos!

Some fantastic bait tips there! 👍 pimped up naturals 👌 gotta do all we can in these tricky, cold conditions. Thanks for checking out the video 👍
Fish meal method mix is good too 👍
I’ll definitely check it out. Krill & Squid by Sonubaits is working well for me at the moment. 👍👍👍
Can’t wait for the tench this summer also Would love to see how you put the maggots on the popped up corn, liked and shared with friends🙌🏻

if not using a pin and quill float, this is my fav type of tench fishing, feeders on buzzers!!! good stuff :)

Love to see the struggle, some fishing vids make everything look to easy, it’s nice to see some reality
Nice video Nick, patience certainly paid off 🎣 definitely a few things I’m going to try this weekend. 👍
Good luck mate. Bites are hard to come by at the moment but certainly possible! 👍👍👍
Love your videos Nick , but surely constantly walking up and down on the horizon allows the fish to see you 🧛🧟👻
Another thoroughly enjoyable video @nickmarshangler 👍🏻
I’m really pleased you enjoyed it mate. You gotta love a Tinca! 👌
@@Lifeonthebank Yes mate, although I’ve never really targeted them so my biggest is only 4lb 9oz 😳
They’re all stunning regardless of size 👍👍👍
Great vid again nick ,inspired me to get out yesterday tenching and had a couple , not monsters both about 4lb but great to see a tinca 👍
Glad you enjoyed the video mate. Good to hear you’re catching a few! 🙌
Mate you're videos are awesome! I love tench! 👍

No worries. I hope they help you catch a BIG Tench! Let me know if you do! 👍👍👍
Brilliant fishing.
Thanks. Tricky conditions but managed to winkle out a few! 😉👍

Ha ha, it’s not an excuse mate, these conditions are making it tricky for the Tench. But anything is possible 😁 Thanks for watching the video. 👍👍👍
Are you fishing summer pit at yateley?

Cracking looking tench. What is going on with the weather lately. Went fishing last Friday with frost on the ground and came home sunburned 🤷🏻
Crazy, crazy weather! Most bizarre conditions I’ve known for ages. Does make the fishing tricky!!! 👍

Mega. Snow tench! Ace.
Bizarre conditions. Each bite coincided with a blizzard 🤣🤣🤣👍
Hi Nick.
Is this a local lake as in Hertfordshire. Nice early season Tench.
Cheers mate. No it’s not.

I use the XTND 2.75lb mate. I always go a bit heavier with my carp rods to combat things like weed and marginal pads. 👍
@@Lifeonthebank Nick thanks for the reply 👍
Quality Vid, Nick. Snow Tench?! WTF?! Oh, and by the way, in my humble opinion, naturals are nearly always the way to go ...
...and also, if this was filmed recently, I was working in a garden on this day, in snow and full sunshine, at the same time!

Korum qualety rods at senceable prices. 👍
These Korum Trilogy rods are amazing. Like owning 3 rods in 1 due to the triple tip! 👍🎣
bank ivI've one of theirs from a few year back the Twin tip plus 1/34 -2-14 and reckon it's pretty good -👍
Snowtench on!!!
