Odo is a shining super star🌟
Mima played very well in spurts, and probably deserved to take that to a final set. However, you could sense Odo’s greater rallying ability for most of the match. It felt like she was playing with more ‘room to spare’. As her second recent victory, this one confirms Odo’s replacement of Ito as the ‘Ito-style’ player in the national team. Ganbare next round.
They have some similaries in common on their game but Odo have a more variated game with an agressive style than Ito who usually more applying tactical, foiled game with very strong and direct shootings. A traditional style game. Odo's just actually affirms her "Odo-style" on "Ito-style" in singles and doubles by her energy and variety.
If Mima said her last word, well I dunno, but the next year seems to be decisive for her, because of her lack of performance. I really hope she will not retiring on TT.
If she can't renew herself in single, I hope to see her playing in doubles with Hayata and other female and male players to renew her game vision, feeling better and confident to having fun and shining again.
@@ParodiaFantasy Honestly after 4 years of decline, including multiple defeats to mediocrities like Pavade and (sorry) Miyuu Kihara, I also think next year will give Ito some hard choices. The pride she understandably gained from that gold medal will probably make it harder. It's gone beyond 'form comes and goes'. Personally, I'm not hopeful any more. Even her doubles performances with Hayata have slowly gone downhill since that world final in 2019. It's very sad and frustrating for someone who's followed her since 2014. More so for her I'm sure.
They are on the same level for sure but poker face Odo is rising fast and with a nerves of steel.
