- Ireland is one of my favorite countries.
It was very nice and interesting to create a video that contains the wisdom of the Irish people.
I hope this issue will be useful and informative for you.

For some real Irish history, feel free to see my family history video I just made a few days ago, 1751-1956, restored version. I added your video "Incredibly Wise Irish...." as an end screen, so appropriate! Thanks! ua-cam.com/video/YHzoLfdRe0k/v-deo.html

this is actually deep unlike the stuff on instagram
@jamescool7419 The voice actor is "desperately unrehearsed" since he declaimed "lives" as one would say "one lives" and not as "a cat has 9 lives."
If you speak it the latter way, the saying should go: "8 lives for the man and 9 lives for the woman."
It is deeper than I am, for I am a gael of scots (tartan for ervin) and not gael of Eire (Ireland) but perhaps it means that women generally live a little longer than men?
After that, you're on your own, beats me. Direct any other prayer requests to St. Paddy, saying "Erin go bragh."
All the best!
("Kind words never broke a mouth..." that's a great 1 !)
Would have been better told by a true Irish voice 🎻🎶
All the quotes are simply beautiful in words and rich in thoughts. I, an Indian woman is surprised see that many of these are found in Indian languages with very small differences in words with ideas intact. Doesn't it mean that we, humans have gone through similar experiences in life and doesn't it make all of us similar all over the world?
Yes
I recently watched Netflix's Stories of Rabindranath Tagore and I was thinking how similar the Indian romance was to my experience as a North American. Yes, it is true that people all over the world have a common collective unconsciousness but also common collective emotions. I find Indian women to be so pleasing to the eye and their grace is so unique compared to Western women.

Every single human being, bore into this world by God, is unique, singular, special, and His. Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you, in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you". God begins Loving us from the very first instant, he designs in His mind who we will uniquely be!!! Then and there, You are made "Sanctified" -- made Special, Sacred, and Holy, by your Father Creator of the whole Universe!!!
"It's not what happens to us in life but it is how we deal with it that matters"
Irish prayer I have always loved: May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. This traditional Irish blessing is an ancient Celtic prayer.
Very nice!

That's beautiful!!!
The Irish Blessing
May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face and the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars 🍀😉
Two Irish sayings that refer to wisdom of thinking before you speak in a conflicted situation: "Shut mouth catches no flies" and "Its many a man's mouth broke his nose".
Although the tongue is the smallest organ in the body it can cause the greatest damage It can sink ships especially friendships We all need to be careful of how we use our tongue If we have nothing good to say about another then it's best to say nothing at all

I really liked these. Some in particular _ Every eye forms it's own fancy. - Sometimes one day changes everything; sometimes years change nothing. Don't marry the one you love, but marry the one who loves You. - Who gossips with you, will gossip of you. - and - Both your friend and your enemy think you will never die. ~ Wow
"Let a shout come from without and see them all unite". No truer words have ever been spoken.

I have one: "Never use computer generated voices if you want the true impact of words to be felt" (Would it be so hard to find a lovely Irish voice to narrate?)
I felt so too very disappointing
Many have heard these wise words in Irish voices, the man speaking, he speaks fine, and his voice does not take away the meaning in these wisdoms. GOD BLESS.
Same.
@@camoflash7621 Hi, I love an Irish accent, I father was Irish, so yes I understand what your saying, and others, my point was the accent doesn't take away the wisdom of the words. Wishing you and all whom may read this A BLESSED NEW YEAR 🙏
That's why I silence the voice and read the captions instead.
We have a lot of similar proverbs here in Sweden .Like "Tala är silver, tiga är guld" To speak is silver, to be silent is gold. "En fågel i handen är bättre än tio i skogen" A bird in the hand is better than ten in the forest.
Like in Thailand 'speak get 2 coin, silent got gold'
Cash in my wallet is better than one lottery ticket.
“Don’t marry the one you love, but married the one who loves you.
The one you love sometimes always end up to be that one that doesn’t loves you and the one you does not love is the one that loves you
It sounds like an abuser's principle.
Huh
Gas light made easy
You're right it would be better to say make sure the feelings mutual. Is it the intent or clarity in the health of those people
Sometimes and always?
Many gems here. "Don't marry the one you love, but marry the one who loves you." Brilliant.
Really?! Then go get a dog! A marriage is two People in love with each other-friends- giving-wanting the best for the other part! Marrying s o. you don't love is selfish!
Excellent imdeed..
Love is a two way interaction. Only the ratio is not always equal. But to marry someone whom you dont love at all is a kind of stupid drama that you have to act in front of your spouse, family members and friends. The pain is within you although your spouse gives a lot of money. Unless you are a true gold digger.
@@danielazubcic8356 well said 👏 👍 😊 absolutely agree! Takes 2 to love and respect eachother, aswell as decide to marry each other. Definitely takes both man & woman aswell as others be it woman and woman too. 2 people must be inlove with each other for any marriage to work beautiful . 💑.
That's the worst one for me. It's unfair for the partner, if he/she does everything for you and gets nothing in return. I want a partner not a pet.
"Experience is the comb that life gives a bald man". Hahaha, too good.
May the roads rise up to meet you May the wind be forever at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rains fall softly upon your fields
Until we meet again
May God keep you safe in the palm of his/her hands
God bless you ~
Many proverbs are English translations from the Gaelic. Some are mistranslated as in : "May the road rise to meet you".
This makes no sense. The Irish verb "Éirigh" has two meanings;
"To rise" & "To succeed"
The proverb is "Go nÉirigh an bóthar leat" in "May your journey/road be successful" not "May the Road rise to meet you."
@@Martin-sp4zf Well, I interpreted it to mean (or misinterpreted it) if you should fall the road rising up will lessen the impact.
God is a He
We love Ireland and all the wisdom that came from it's shores and people! We love visiting there with great friends and it was a happy day when we found out we have a lot of Irish in our own family roots on both sides! :)
Don't marry the one you love but the one that loves you, very wise Indeed 🙏🏽.
Or maybe a little stupid if you then wind up marrying somebody who's stalking you - and who you don't love. Just sayin'.
@@ZZSmithReal haha funny reply. Depends what the stalker can offer you i guess.
I'd like to append "and be worthy of that love"
@@ZZSmithReal Before you marry, you KNOW your own feelings. You have to assume the other person's feelings. Don't marry unless you are convinced love is mutual.
No it isn't. It's drivel.
Here for wisdom ☁️🙆☁️ a kind word never broke anyone's mouth
I love that one. I've never heard it before and this may sound corny, but I always try to say something nice to someone especially if they look a bit down. I don't mean in a false way, in a genuine way. It takes 2 minutes to say something nice and I think in these days of social media, keyboard warriors etc, it's a good way to live. People always remember how you made them feel.
My favorite prayer: For those that love us, may God keep them and their family in his care. For those that do not love us, may God turn their hearts. But if he can not turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles so we will know them by their limping."
Oh so funny 🤣🤣
'Better it is to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all'☘️
I am Irish and I've loved seeing all of these together. Some of them I would have known but not all.
''A bad wife takes advice from everyone, but her husband. '' Wow ! Unfortunately, Majority of wives believe they are much smarter than their husbands.
That’s a bad recipe for marriage. I think there needs to be a mutual love and respect. Keep others out of your marriage and always believe the best about your spouse. My husband is smart, strong, loyal and extremely hard working. I know how blessed I am to have him so the only ones allowed in my marriage are God, him and I.
They are all so good. Just wish I could remember them.

Better to die with faith than to live without it!
My Irish mother told me of an old lady that lived near them said "come in and live with me to know what I am"
Very practical words many may have experience in their daily life
It's better to be a coward for a minute than dead for the rest of your life, reminds me of the sayings of Irish mothers : "If you fall out of a tree and break you leg, don't come running to me!" If you wander off and get lost, don't come crying to me!'

Funny how some of these are common sayings in other cultures. I am Latin Hispanic and there are many of these I heard growing up.
I love the Spanish saying about when you fall in love and are disappointed, it takes One nail to knock out the other
I just put native American wisdom and this Irish wisdom on my Facebook and I was thinking I want to put some great Spanish wisdom on my Facebook also! I grew up with a family who the mother is Puerto Rican basque etc.and the father was Lebanese, lifelong friends and that's why God made so many different types of people, so we could all learn from each other and also learn to love our differences and love one another!

Love quotes. Love these. I’m a Fitzpatrick now through marriage so I’m kinda Irish. My thoughts watching: That is so profound. That is funny. Huh? That must be an Irish thing.
"Don’t marry the one you love, marry the one who loves you. " Right! But it has to be someone who is sort of beautiful, otherwise no matter how much she loves you the married life would not be of much happiness.
What kind of beauty you want?
