'A Finestra (The Window)
Description: Carmen Consoli (2009) - as she always looks onto the piazza from her balcony window she sees all kinds of people going about their lives; a couple who have made their fortunes and who are now adjusting to their new lifestyle, nice people angry and idle sprawled on the benches of the piazza; she contemplates how at one point in time “Turks (Muslims), Jews and Christians shook hands” where diversity was a richness, while she is criticized for staring at them. Her response is, “Have you nothing better to do? Go to work, dance or the beach “ why do you have to stay here underneath my house to insult me?"
A real Sicilian tongue twister, Joe Baiardo is one of the few who has performed it live @ the Racalmutese Festival in Hamilton ON, Canada.
