I have the same leak detector it is very accurate. Heated diode is the best way to go. Been using it for 2 years and have a 99 percent success rate finding leaks. Have never had a leak detector be so accurate. Had 3 others before I bought the tek mate
Double Bar Fishing haven’t changed my diode since I’ve had it. never really read the manual witch I probably should have. but do they need change regularly ? have had mine for 2 years as well.
SureShotAuto. depends on how it’s used and stored I guess. Mine started giving off false readings here and there but as soon as I changed it it’s working flawlessly. Catching those 410a micro channel 😉!
I’ve heard guys talk shit about my tek mate in the field , but, we all know how that is , everyone is a super tech and has all the answers 😜 and I been using in 3 yrs (replacing the diode only once) and never had anything bad to say about it .
I used the tek mate for a good while and it was pretty good but I now have the “job best” prowler. It’s a little bulky compared to the tek mate but wow does it work good!
My boss makes us use the JB prowler and I personally think it's junk! The inficon Tek mate is definitely something im looking into! Thanks for sharing this with us John
Thanks for the video. I am not happy with my Yellow Jacket leak detector. I'm thinking of buying one of this. this coil is only 3 years old. John I had a 2 year old ADP aluminium coil that was leaking and we had to replace. Are aluminium coils less durable than copper or this is just a coincidence ? Thanks again.
Hi Dan, here in Brasil, We had same problem. microchannel aluminium coils. until be procecuted, 'cause to denie repleacement by warranty . I though this condition had been fineshed by there. The factories try to convince us that is it pontual. But they don´t explain why this happen!!!! Aluminiun coils, nobody deserve!!!!!
Thats not good for me if those coils are leaking, so far I had no issues. I really thought aluminum evaporator coils will last longer than copper coils, that is not the case apparently. I have already ran across one Trane and Carrier coil that I found leaks on. I think manufactures all knows this and that is why coils are so high in cost, they know that they will have to warranty at least one coil within the warranty timeframe. Good video👍

I like the Heated Diode leak detectors. I have the Fieldpiece SRL8 and it works great too. Looking forward to the video Friday👍
Me too, it doesn't on foot,. Work very well!!!
Great detector. Been using it 2 years, just installed new heated diode sensor today works like new

I agreed with you. I have friend that the only good tools are the one he buys. Anything else is junk.

What type of refrigerant is it detecting in this video?

I have an Infecon TEK-Mate. Have not had to use it much. Most of my jobs are ekectrical.
I like the grey 3/4 electrical conduit drain pan line. lol Use what ya got i guess.
If you can, put some bubbles on it before you pull it out to show us the leak.
Thanks bruh. Hows your health? Good i hope
Is that conduit for the drain line?
Have one that has been very lightly used, now suddenly making a lot of fan noise from the detector.
Once in a blue moon I get a customer that wants me to try And re-braised the fittings on those!
Arin Graves I do if its out of warranty.
Or if it’s not warranty and still replacing makes a good coil for the newer guys to practice on.
@@brucecrutchfield3473 no doubt brother.
Are these luxaire units made in Mexico?
No they are made in USA by Johnson Control
I want this detector but iam from Indian hydrabad
