Yes he was. Loved jack at freehold with the nicknames. Apparently he had a lot away from track issues that were serious and freehold
      Management fired him in 98.

Cam Fella dominated the 1982 Hopeful series at 1-20 every time. I saw many of his races live in what were extremely cold temperatures. Used to take the track bus up First Avenue at 715pm and get there with twenty minutes to spare. Half-hour ride home unlike Roosevelt.

I got chills when Stan Bergstein mentioned the five horses and drivers for this 1982 edition of "The US Pacing Championship" at Roosevelt Raceway. Sadly, Roosevelt's gone; as are Mike Gagliardi; Shelly Goudreau; Buddy Gilmour and, although I'm not sure if Doug Arthur is still with us, I know for sure that John Campbell is.

This was back in the day when Meadowlands was throwing a lot of money at horse races, sadly only a five horse field to go against Millers Scout, who was a beast and half mile track specialist. Genghis Khan was a big horse but he was very lumbering wasn't as good on the half-mile as he was on the mile.

I remember that the big horse at Roosevelt and Yonkers was Skip by night. SBN and Docs Fella both were in the World Cup at the Meadowlands but really didn't do anything. You are correct about Genghis Kahn as if I remember correctly went on a break on a 1/2 mile track, I think it was Freehold,

And whats unusual his mom..Robin Dundee, was the first filly/mare to pace under 2:00 down under, thats when Aussie/NZ tracks had large fields and on dangerously small tracks, with tight turns..

@@keywestsunset3897 What is so funny about Genghis Khan was on an unusually warm night in February 1984 at The Meadowlands I went out there to bet a horse named J Z Leader in the Open Pace who had been off for over two years and still had some running lines at Yonkers in the late summer of 1981 where he faced Genghis Khan and most recently had lost to a horse who had won the four-year-old open at The Meadowlands the night before and was set to improve. He did mainly by just being clear of an accident where he won easily and paid something like 9-1 where he looked like an overlay to begin with.

none of them would even go near Genghis Khan the night before , and all had no luck against him at anytime
